Product Name: Razer Blade 15 (2022)
Product ID: RZ09-0421
Motherboard: CH580
BIOS Versions I work with: 2.02 & 2.06
Bios File Size: 32,768 KB
Dear Forum Readers!
I'm looking for a BIOS modder or anyone with experience who would give me suggestions about my razer blade's BIOS settings.
I can view and edit the content of the BIOS .bin file with AMIBCP BIOS editor.
The BIOS files I'm working with are from badcaps.net and those are CLEAN BIOS files (anyone can find it with the search string: RZ09-0421).
!!! MY RAZER BLADE HAS POWER THROTTLING ISSUE !!!
That's the reason i'm looking for answers in the BIOS.
More info about that in my reddit post:

There are the questions I'm looking for:
_/PCI Subsystem Settings/Re-Size BAR Support Disabled
Is that easy to get Re-Size BAR Support just by switching it to Enabled?
_/Setup/OverClocking Performance Menu/
Need help to understand, If i'm correct i don't have to touch it if the system is working as it should in normal case. I only have to touch it if I want to extreme OC the system.
_/Setup/Advanced/Power&Performance/CPU-Power Management Control/ View/Configure Turbo Options/ (This page controls the PL1 & PL2 limits)
_/Setup/Advanced/Power&Performance/CPU-Power Management Control/ View/Configure Turbo Options/Power Limit 2 Override Enabled (Control Help String: Enable/Disable Power Limit 2 override. If this option is disabled, BIOS will program the default values for Power Limit 2.)
_/Setup/Advanced/Power&Performance/CPU-Power Management Control/ View/Configure Turbo Options/Power Limit 2 0 (Control Help String: Power Limit 2 value in Milli Watts. BIOS will round to the nearest 1/8W when programming. If the value is 0, BIOS will program this value as 1.25*Processor Base Power (TDP). For 12.50W, enter 12500. Processor applies control policies such that the package power does not exceed this limit.)
I'm not sure that the Power Limit 2 option should be 0 by default when the override option is Enabled, because my Intel i7-12800H CPU's Processor Base Power (PL1) is 45W and the Maximum Turbo Power (PL2) is 115W.
Based on the settings that are factory defaults, this should behave like this --> 1.25*45W=56.25W.
I don't know if these values are purposely edited like this or just by mistake, but I checked the CPU with ThrottleStop and when it hits around 55W+, the PL2 starts Throttling.
Can I turn off the override or should i set the value of Power Limit 2 to 115000?
_/Setup/Advanced/Power&Performance/CPU-Power Management Control/Config TDP Configurations
I need explanation of this page. I figured out it's related to MMIO and MSR about PL1 and PL2, but I don't know if I should change any settings here.
_/Setup/Advanced/Power Performance/CPU-Power Management Control/ View/Configure CPU Lock Options/ Overclocking Lock Enabled (Control Help String: Enable/Disable Overclocking Lock (BIT 20) in FLEX_RATIO(194) MSR)
If I switch it to Disabled, Will I be able to control the Overclocking option with softwares like ThrottleStop or Intel XTU? Now it's fully locked to overclock anything on software side.
_/Setup/Advanced/Thermal Configuration/Platform Thermal Configuration
Active Trip Point 0 71°C
Active Trip Point 0 Fan speed 100 (0-100 scale)
Active Trip Point 1 55°C
Active Trip Point 1 Fan speed 75 (0-100 scale)
Active Trip Points Enabled
Should I change anything to make better optimalized performance for my laptop?
I'm not too sure about the Active Trip Points indexing order. Shouldn't it be in the opposite way?
_/Setup/Advanced/Thermal Configuration/Intel(R) Dynamic Tuning Technology Configuration/OEM Variable and Object/
Processor Thermal Device
_TMP 1 Object Disabled
_TMP 2 Object Disabled
_TMP 3 Object Enabled
...
_TMP 8 Object Enabled
Should I switch _TMP 1 & _TMP2 Enabled or this is purposely disabled?
