I have a big problem with xps 15 9550.
The laptop turned on, but after installing the system (each), when trying to install anything, it displayed a message that the system administrator does not allow installation. The worst thing is that no system saw wifi, despite the fact that wifi was visible in the bios. When trying to install the drivers, of course, a message was displayed that the system administrator does not allow ...
I tried ways with the system to get around this problem - nothing helped.
My service came to the conclusion that the previous owner had somehow secured the laptop and decided to program the bios from the beginning - all 3 pieces.
Unfortunately, they did not remove the bios battery while working with the bios readout. In addition, it is not known whether they correctly saved the original 16mb bios. And of course 4mb and 1mb.
At the moment, the laptop turns on, does not go through POST and turns off after 5 seconds.
I've already tried with a dozen bios - none of them worked. It's always the same - Post doesn't pass and turns off after 5 seconds. Programs each of the 3 bios. Also with the original one, it is not known whether it is correctly written.
Can anyone, anyone, help me? I've already lost hope that the laptop will come back to life.Comment

Hello everyone,
I have XPS15 9550 and after I came back from vacation it suddenly won't turn on anymore. LCD diagnostics test passed. Upon power button, fans don't start and power light dies shortly after. After reading posts online, looks like my BIOS needs to be updated/ upgraded. How can I do with a USB (FAT 32) if my computer doesn't even turn on? Any help is much appreciated!Comment

Mine is also dell xps 15 9550 but with different problem:
D + power goes screen test
sometimes is gives me dell logo for few seconds than screen goes off.
if i power it off then on, no logo will appear..i must wait many minutes to get the logo again, i cannot enter bios.
I tried bios posted by SMDFlea post #23 , but all i got is black screen with fans spin for few seconds only, i waited half an hour with no success...
this is my bios file:

Does anyone have the BIOS of this machine? AAM00 LA-C361P Rev 1.0 (a00)
Today a colleague asked me for help because he was "repairing" his laptop because it wouldn't turn on (it wouldn't turn on because it had some short capacitors and well that's another story). He confessed to me that he was following some tutorials and started to move to three integrated that brings this machine thinking it was the bios.
- IC1 (Bios): MX25L12873F
- IC2 : 25Q80DVSIG
-IC3 : 25Q32
The truth is that I don't know what he did to them but the laptop actually turns on but it seems that it doesn't have a bios. (it turns on the power light but turns off almost instantly and that's it)
I tried to load a Bios that I found here in the forum but it still does not work, so I do not know if he delete or damage the information of the 3 IC....

I am trying to fix my old xps 9550, there are 3 SPI chips, how am I supposed to know which one is the bios?
I ve already erased the UH8 chip (see boardview in attachment)...

TPM is not find on my xps 9550, I tried to reset bios to factory rollback to old version (and factory reset) ...
It looks like you patch some bios here, sorry for the noob question but can I apply the roms found here ? Flashing from usb key says they are invalid.

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,... -
Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I recently bought a Dell G15 5515 with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and 3060 RTX. The BIOS chip on it was dead, and my hardware guy replaced the chip. After that, everything was working fine.
The BIOS is currently at version 1.22.1, and I wanted to update it. I downloaded the latest BIOS version from Dell Support using my ST: FQZMYJ3, but when I tried to run it, it says "unsupported system." Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate... -
So, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...
