Dell 9010 MT BIOS Update Always Fails
[FONT=Calibri]Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again...

Thank you for your reply! I think I have answered my own question. I found BIOS files for my Dell 9010 desktop on this site. They were labeled with the IC numbers and which one was main BIOS and which one the EC. Thank you for your offer to help!

Not sure what the emojis mean. Are you saying I could put either IC in either position flash them, and they would work? Never mind, I'll find someone willing to help, not just post stupid emojis. You didn't even try to answer my question. Thanks for nothing.

Yes, they are both BIOS ICs. There are two .bin BIOS files for the Dell 9010 desktop, one is labeled MAIN and the other file EC. So which IC is the MAIN BIOS IC and which one is the EC IC?

I did mean to post the IC numbers. Top chip in the picture which you highlighted in yellow is Winbond 25Q32JVSIQ. The bottom IC is a Winbond 25Q64JVSIQ, which I suspect is the main BIOS IC, with the upper IC being the EC IC. Thanks!

I hope someone can help me. I am a complete noob when it comes to BIOS flashing. I corrupted the BIOS in my Dell 9010 desktop trying to update it via an .exe file. Fans run and error LED blinks a BIOS code, but no screen or any other function. I have procured the ch143a programmer and the 9010 desktop BIOS files. I have found the location of the BIOS and EC ICs. Both are next to each other and they are both 8 pin SOP-8 packages. One of the ICs has a dual mount option 8 pin or 16 pin. I have attached a picture where both ICs can be seen. Sorry about the washed out contrast, I can send a new picture...

Hello, My name is Mike. I'm a retired consumer electronics and computer tech. The business I worked for closed due to everything being disposable (just go buy a new one). I still do repairs in my garage but mostly light weight stuff due to a bad back. I have found this site very informative and visit often. I thought I would join to post. Mostly I have been a lurker/reader. I am new to flashing BIOS and I need some help. Thanks!
