Dell 9010 MT BIOS Update Always Fails

Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run normally.

Now for the advice request: Both computers have BIOS version A13. I would like to upgrade the BIOS in both computers to a higher version. I downloaded all of the BIOS versions from A13 – A30 in their .exe packages from Dell. I tried A14 first which failed from the .exe install. I got a message saying a driver file (DBUtil_2_3.sys) cannot load. I downloaded a utility from Dell that is supposed to detect and delete that file. It ran its search but found no instances of the file. A manual search found no instance of that file. So, then I made a bootable DOS USB drive and loaded the .exe files on to it. From all indications the upgrade install ran like it should. When the computer shut down after the upgrade (that's normal), the upgrade was supposed to install itself. It did not. The BIOS version remains at A13. I tried most of the other .exe BIOS installer packages via .exe install and DOS with no luck. The BIOS version remains at A13. I don't think the BIOS ICs could be locked because I successfully dumped the working computer BIOS files and successfully flashed the other computer's BIOS. I have visited numerous forums and have tried dozens of suggestions over many weeks, but none of them would upgrade the BIOS version. Since both computers are running normally with A13, I suppose I could leave them both alone. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas? Thanks!

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
    by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

Help with BIOS update on Dell G15 5515 after chip replacement
    by capoplays
    Hey everyone,

I recently bought a Dell G15 5515 with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and 3060 RTX. The BIOS chip on it was dead, and my hardware guy replaced the chip. After that, everything was working fine.

The BIOS is currently at version 1.22.1, and I wanted to update it. I downloaded the latest BIOS version from Dell Support using my ST: FQZMYJ3, but when I tried to run it, it says "unsupported system." I asked my tech guy what he did, and he said he took the chip from another board and flashed it onto mine.

When I check the BIOS using the F12 menu Flash...

Dell Pro 13 Plus PB13250 Bios Unlock
    by Akhlz001
    Hi,

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...

Dell Latitude 5431 issues with dumping bios
    by Sathsul
So, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...
