The patch won't work if the bios version is latest. use this bin flash both it won't work if you only flash the main you should Flash Both.
first boot press f10 apply factory defaults and restart, 2nd boot reset security settings to defaults and exit.
use BCU and put your original DMI.

Hi, after applying post 120 the password prompts for F9, F11 and F12 were disabled, but unfortunately not F10. After flashing both chips (and re-reading and verifying against supplied bins) the HP Elitebook 840 G10 went through its normal few reboots, but before I got the opportunity to get to a point where I could press F10 to set factory defaults, I was presented with "BIOS Identity Data Recovered: The BIOS has recovered its identity from the Embedded Controller due to data mismatch"
Anyway, please see attached dumps. Hopefully they can help identify a resolution
