X550jx black screen but cpu heating up

Hello everyone thanks for your time reading this.

I have an asus x550jx laptop. The internal screen has given up so i only have external monitor to test.
The last two days when the laptop was working it was extremly slow (only like 3fps) when i tested gpu-z but working without a problem. One day i have a BSOD and then windows halted on boot with TRAP 00000030.
Removed every hdd, dvd drive but windows usb installer still thrown trap 30. Then after some restart the asus logo freezed uppon post and thats all. Black screen since then. 1 min powerbutton without any battery, cmos or ac connector but still the same.

    Symptoms:
after power removed and 1 min power button holding, it starts with power+ num lock + caps lock lit, no blinks. Can only power off by holding power button for 6 sec. Then 2nd power on. Still blackscreen but onyl power+num lock lit. Cpu is slowly heating up after some time, and cpu fan starts to spin.
Tried ctrl+home bios flash but not seeing anything so dont know if it worked.

You need a Special tool to do this job & a working BIN , dissemble the MOB & find out what voltages are missing on the BIG GRAY Coils , check this out https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=88758

Re: X550jx black screen but cpu heating up

I have measured the following values:

              ALL_SYS_PWRGD 3,35v
              VCCIN 1,745v
              VRM_PWRGD 3,36v
              CORE_PWRGD 3,3v
              PM_PWROK 3,3v
              H_DRAM_PWRGD + - + - + -
              DRAMPWROK 0,877v
              PM_SYSPWROK 3,3v
              BUF_PLT_RST 3,3v
              +NVDD 0,89v

Seems that the ram power is not high enough as i see it.
Anyone have an idea where to go next?

                  With only onboard RAM yes!
DRAMRST 1.35V with another ram in slot.

                            Without power:
                            R0332 - 50.3 Ohm
                            R0338 - 1.7 kOhm

Voltage i will check tomorrow cause cpu is heating if i remove the heatsink and the R0332 can only be measured if heatsink is off. I figure something out

both left and right side is 0 voltage.

                                More information to you:
PL8001 and PL8003 both +VCCIN and should be 1,745v but PL8001 is 0v. What the hell?

A short followup about private messages:
                                  - R0322 is a shorted place and measured also 0.8v
                                  - R0342 is an empty place. Both side 0v

The next step would be to measure the followings:
                                  - both side of R0338 R0335 R0337 R0336
                                  - U0303 all pins

durring the measures the laptop condition changed:
Now it starts and Power+Caps lock LED lights up and stays on but after 10 seconds, the laptop shuts off.

I have made a stupid mistake. CPU fan was not correctly plugged, thats why condition changed.

Update. Only Numlock+power led stays lit.

I'm thinking that accoring to datasheet SOT353 5 pin:
                                      if the
                                      input1=HIGH (3.3v) and
                                      input2=HIGH (3.3v) and
                                      VCC=3.3v
then isn't the output should be 3.3v??

                                      Does U0303 faulty?

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                                          Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen

I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...

ipad pro 9.7" blew a SMD component while replacing the screen 🤦‍♂️

i have an ipad pro 9.7" (1st gen) A1674 where i replaced the screen, but never attached the screen to the frame/chassis (glued down) due to the ipad being previously dropped so the new screen would never fit in the frame properly. so i need flex/bend the chassis to eventually fix the new screen in properly. so i temporarily just applied blue tape around the edges of the screen to keep it in place. when watching videos with the ipad the screen started flicker, so i though maybe the new quasi cheap amz screen i purchased was going out. so i disconnected then reconnected with power still on,...
