PS4 PRO - black screen, white light

    Hello everyone,

I have problem with my Playstation 4 PRO. After a long break, I turned on the console and tried to play game. Game started, but after a minute it froze the console and crashed to the main menu. I tried running another game and the same problem.
Error returned: CE-34878-0 (I changed HDD)

I updated the software in the console. I unplugged the console, put it aside for a week and now I want to turn it on but there is no image. The console lights up white, there is communication via HDMI with the monitor - but only a black screen (but it detects the connection). Safe mode - a nice signal that it enters the mode but no change on the screen. I took out the disk, the CMOS battery, measured the diodes between the system and the HDMI socket and the drops were 0.450. There is no breakdown between the lines on these filters. The console has never been touched before (apart from replacing the paste). HDMI socket in perfect condition (pins on the board and connecting to the cable). Replaced HDMI cables and TV - 0 effect.

    I attach log from UART.
    RETIMER is dead?

    Somone help me ?

replace the clock battery and set the time/date and reset all the settings to defaults.
    then try again.
    it's lost the time/date.
if it's like a pc then it's lost the harddrive boot settings too
and if it's running Linux the o.s. wont boot if the files are dated newer than the machine date/time << not a lot of people know that simple fact.

if putting a fresh battery in and doing a complete reset still gives ATA errors then check your harddrive is connected or test it in something else

      one other thing,
if it's the same as PS3 then losing the battery will de-authorise the user accounts on the console.
so after changing the battery you need to login to the playstation network so it updates the certificates.
THAT may be why your games reset.

I already replaced the battery but it didn't help. The error still appears. I can't set anything because nothing is displayed on the screen.

maybe you can power it on with some button combo to force a reset.
          maybe some usefull info here:

            Hi,

thanks for help. As I wrote "Safe mode - a nice signal that it enters the mode but no change on the screen. " it''s probably one way to force reset.

I can't initialize because nothing appears on the screen...
            Other ideas?

                Hi,
I replaced HDMI port and Panasonic MN864729, but this did not help to solve problem.
Before replacement, the effect is the same.

APU dead ? Can I check it ? How ?

To ask here... I have few devices with white screen problem, actualy nokia 2220 and some fuji? camera, and try to understand what is common problem to cause that issue.
Yes, both devices work everything else probably ok, I mean, I hear intro melody and keypress click sound, DTMF tone, power on off... all ok.
On desk is nokia 2220 slide, and I check all screen connectors and components arround it, measure voltage drop, but all looks ok. I suspect on slide flex cable, but it look ok and white screen is not interupt while flexing board, pushing conectors, and sliding up down. In attachment...

                  by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

EVGA GTX 980 TI black screen when launching a game - Why?
                  by fab13
I have a problem with an EVGA GTX 980 TI,

I have a problem with an EVGA GTX 980 TI it displays a black screen when starting a game on the menu for example either in HDMI OR DISPLAY PORT.

The basic problem is that the card does not boot, the FDMF 6823A mosfet shorts internally on the 12V line and I also changed an original one and now the card boots.

                  Driver installation OK
                  Detection of the card OK
No black screen on the desktop
No short circuit on the GPU
                  All voltages stable

The problem is when starting a...

                  Sharp LC-65Q620U White Screen
                  by EazyBone
                  Another TV topic!!
I got this sharp TV that when I first plugged it in it showed the sharp logo and then went to the input screen. This was about 30 seconds and then it showed white screen. Now I can't see anything but white screen. This has a separate TCON and Main.

The TCON is getting 12V and several parts are as well but the VGH line is only .5Volts which I thought is totally incorrect.

Am I on the correct assumption that the TCON is bad somehow if I'm only getting that voltage or is there something else I should check?...
