Marvell Gigabit controller stuck at 100Mbps

My NAS is a Windows 10 1909 64-bit PC running on an EVGA Z68 FTW motherboard which uses a Marvell 88E8057 network controller.

The problem is that the network connection is stuck at 100Mbps. That really sucks when I'm trying to move large files around.

I tried a few different network cables, I tried moving it from my Asus router to my Netgear switch (both of which are obviously gigabit).

Driver version is 12.10.16.0 which was automatically installed by Windows. EVGA's website lists an older version than that. Marvell's website lists 12.10.17.3 but when I try to install it, it says "a newer version is already installed"

Not sure what the next step is besides putting in a PCI-E NIC which I really don't feel like doing.

It wouldn't bee the first time a Windows driver has screwed up an ethernet connection.
Uninstall the Windows driver and install the one from the EVGA website.

I would be pissed and think of wiping the drive and reinstalling Windows.

Especially Windows 10 with Windows Update errors.

Yes, I borrowed my friends furry friend and tried to shove it in the second Ethernet port because the motherboard has too. Unfortunately, I got a hissing noise and some scratches, and my friend is now angry at me.

Did you try setting the speed to 1000Mbps manually?
It's quite common to have auto negotiation issues with gigabit Ethernet.
Intelligent switches and most NICs have some options to change to alleviate that

Nope, in the drop down on windows I can't pick gig. Only 100 or autonegotiate.

                try a linux livedisk,
try a new cable - check it has all 8 wires connected.
100mb does not use all 8, 1000 does.

if you still cant get it going, check the transformer on the motherboard and any asociated ceramic caps.
if the chip cant detect all 8 lines it will not run at 1000.

incidentally, most marvel chips can run a cable test and even have a built-in TDR function.
try tracking down the software - i think asus used to supply it with the top-end athlon boards.

maybe the pins are bent in the marvel Ethernet port? seen that and the actual port being worn out (from plugging in and out too many times). Other than that I guess drivers. Maybe a boot linux from a stick and retest.

                          simple way to test
1 just plug same cable to laptop and check speed ( don't change any setup)
                          if laptop works on 1gbps
2 boot from live cd from NAS ( Any win 10 live cd-dvd-USB works)
if not going on gbps check network port pins are straight and clean ( use alcohol and q-tips to clean it.
If Live cd works then some thing wrong set in network card drive advance settings.

Sorry, forgot to update, no solution, have tried all the physical cleaning and testing. Will try Linux at some point. Switched my Plex server/NAS to a different system solved the problem.

Board as written in description was stuck at VGA LED. common Problem wit these type of bords.... tried all the "standard stuff" like resettin... reseatin.... found out the LED Controller MCU1 = IT8295FN-56A geting burning hot under the last PCI Slot.. now i desoldered it cause there were only 18 ohms at the caps arround.... another aorus x470 in working condition with similar part and nearly same layout had arround 280 ohms...

my question is: why doesnt the board start know without this chip.... worked myself through the boardview but i can´t understand...

When I received the device, the device has no function. After an investigation, I found that the PWM CONTROLLER RT6575B (U6100) is getting warm and there is a short circuit at the 3V3 output. This normally supplies 3V3 for the embedded controller IT5571E-128 (U301). When measuring and analyzing with a thermal imaging camera, I found that some components are damaged: SLG4E42553VTR (U8500), IT5571E-128 (U301), LAN RTL8111H (U450), LOGIC 74LVC1G08GW (U1900), RT6575B (U6100) All these components are on...

                              Hello everyone.

Got a catalyst 2960 from the usual scrapyard - ebay.
It is stuck in bootloop and the power supply is missing the 3.3v rail. (+12V, -53V, +3.3V)
Some green moisture crystallization on mainboard, which cleared very well with IPA and visually there is nothing rusted or gone.
Still working on the PSU to get the 3.3v rail back (waiting for parts), but for now I'm using an external buck converter board hooked up to the 12V rail ( by the way, the switch seems to be working with only 12V ).

The switch fails to boot due to the following POST error:...

The treadmill was working fine, one day the belt snapped and after checking the unit I also noticed that the display is now showing the Controller comm error. So I opened it up and the treadmill had two boards. One is a power supply board and the other is the motor controller. I noticed there was a mouse nest, so I took power supply board out, cleaned it up, replaced the big capacitor and that did nothing. Then I took apart the motor controller and cleaned that up, and when I plugged it in, it started right up. I thought I fixed it. But when the belt arrived, I installed it and tried to power...
