That is the failure mode of CCFLs, according to what I have heard.

The pink/red hue means the CCFL is dying. You must replace them. If you have another set of lamps, that could help (normally, only one of the two lamps on each pair is damaged). Maybe just one of your four lamps is dying, or two (one of each pair). I repaired one of that LCDs like 10 days ago. Same symptoms, the fix was the replacement of the lamps.

            replace all the lamps.
if 1 is bad the rest are soon to fail .they have the same number of hours on them.

Good point.... like when one of your car's headlights go out, and you change them both. Sounds logical.

                  that's why i've bought a 19 non-wide panel on ebay.
other option would be to find a 19" Widescreen LCD on ebay with a cracked screen.

BTW: i've found out that the brightnes you can set in the monitors OSD is waaay too high.
brightness doesn't change much at 60% and up. so i guess the CCFLs died because they get too high voltage because of the brightness range in the OSD is way too wide.

i've set the Proview to 20% brightness now. it's still very bright.
any setting higher than 30% is waaay too bright.. especially while surfing the net on white/gray sites like the badcaps forum..

That is a good option (getting a 19" wide on eBay, just with a cracked screen, or if you want to experiment a little more, a dead one....). Also, I normally set the brightness around 50% (high...) and then I use the Video card drivers/control panel to adjust the gamma and other settings (temp, etc.).

Nice one, that makes a lot of sense now you mention it,
Will be doing revised settings on mine, thanks

                        Thanks for advice!
anyway does anyone maybe have schematic diagram of this mag/proview inverter board, as maybe i can bypass protections so inverter will work all time and CCFLs will light till total dead

I don;t think that's a good idea. No protection will mean over voltage (someone correct me if I'm wrong ) as soon as the lamps die, causing damage to the transformers or other components. The protection is there for a reason. I which I can give a more detailed or technical reason, but I can't. Just using common sense.

If you have a inverter to test with, do you have LAMPS to test with?
find out what lamp is the bad one, and maybe you can replace just one instead of the four (would be best, but if money is a concern or price is too high).

Thats good info that you posted, I was too dull to do the same thing when I swapped a pannel about 6 Mnths back, I did not even keep notes now I dont even remember what unit it came out of and what it went into
I should keep notes like Eguevare does, but I have never been very organised got every thing, cant find anything when I want it
                              Good job BTW
