Re: Replaced 820uF caps on syncmaster 2253BW, backlight still shuts off after 1s
Did you notice a pink hue before it started to shut off, or can you see it the very short time the lamps turn on?
If that's the case, it is a bad lamp.

Re: Syncmaster 740N
Posting on an already existing thread is OK, as it will serve as reference for other people looking to solve similar problems on the same unit - in fact, your question may have already been answered.
That being said, I would advise you against replacing the fuse with a copper wire - the fuse is there for a reason, and it also blew for a reason. If you bypass it and something else is bad, instead of blowing the fuse again, you will damage something else on the board. Not good.
As for your issue of caps not being available in your...

Yes. For a start. You can't really diagnose accurately with those caps in there....

Re: Samsung 226BW
No sound or pink hue?
If you connect it to a video signal, you should be able to see the screen (dimmed) when the lamps go out by using a flashlight. If you can't, besides the inverter/backlights we have another problem.
I was checking my notes and I had changed lots (lots...) of lamps on that model because one dies...I assume you don't have another unit to use the lamps to test, right?...

Re: Samsung 226BW
Just to be sure...
Screen DOES lite up and then goes off....?
My main question would be, do you note any noise between the On and then OFF , like a hiss, or a red/pink hue in the screen?

Re: Viewsonic VP211b
just got my hands in one of those units, and the problem ended up being the logic board (besides the recap). I have some parts for those units, so I just swapped it and that was it. I will find time to troubleshoot the logic board in the future, but for now, that was the solution...

Re: Issue with Westinghouse 19" LCD Monitor (large pics)
Read?
As a matter of fact, I tend to read posts aloud to practice my English (2nd language) and see where punctuation can be inserted and such,so I can both try to help, learn and also improve my language.... you should try to read it.......

Re: Issue with Westinghouse 19" LCD Monitor (large pics)
You need to replace them all (caps) even if they are not bulged.
And as for knowing nothing, I was a bank teller when I joined the forums (unemployed now...) and did not know nothing, except to follow instructions/suggestions and do a lot of reading ......

Re: Issue with Westinghouse 19" LCD Monitor (large pics)
1.- Caps are not the recommended replacements.
2.- Without changing the MOSFETS you will never get an image, even if the fuse is bridged (the fuse blew because the MOSFETs shorted...)
3.- MOSFET Removal tip? Patience, my friend.......

Re: Issue with Westinghouse 19" LCD Monitor (large pics)
I agree.I bypassed it to see if it was going to work or not.It is not advisable to do it (even to test).
Answering your question, you just have to cover the fuse in solder. But you need to post pics so we can show you where to look....

Re: KDS K-92BW Turns off
Post a list of all the caps on your board and replacements would be suggested accordingly...
