I promised my supplier of bad monitors, that I'd have a couple working ones to give back. So had a bit of spare time this evening, thought I'd crank out a couple.
Grabbed the first one, an LG 1750s. These are almost always bad caps, even though this one tested initially as a 2 seconds to black.
Cracked it open, got the ps/inverter out, and re-capped. Got it back together, turned it on, it poweres up, lights stay on but.........
Dammit! broken screen!
You'd have thought I would have noticed when I first tested it :
Oh well, I'll keep the boards and recycle the rest.
The second one, a little Benq FP557 was a breeze, 5 caps.
