    LCD Monitor w/ Vertical Lines

So I've done some searching online to see if anyone has an idea of what this issue is and for the most part I've seen that it's a "T-Con" board going bad, but yet again, no definite answer... I have 2 LCD monitors that are doing this... First one is a Dell SP2208WFPt and the second is a Soyo Topaz S series...

Basically what is happening is that I'm getting faded vertical lines all across the monitors like a certain color pixel is stuck on, the Dell has a white color while the Soyo seems to have a red'ish color. (Did a color test and only notice it on certain colors)

I picked both of these monitors up for free and they were not working at, so I got them to at least turn on... Now it's just the vertical line issue....
    Any thoughts?

(Pictures to come once I put them back together)

Usually vertical lines are a sign of a bad panel. Are they grouped, random or follow a set pattern (every X pixels)? A reddish tint could be attributed to a failing CCFL bulb. Also, LCD monitors usually don't have a "T-Con" (Timing Control) board, these are found in LCD TV sets.

If when you press the upper part of the LCD panel lines respond (usually disappear), then you have a defective display. Repair is not possible.

The picture suggests the panel is shot, and no repair.I have seen Screens with total whitish fading colouring etc, and they can sometimes be down to Badcaps(particularly with Proview),or a badly fitting connector between Logic and Screen Board.

I agree with Rtech. The welds between the LCD control board ribbon cable and the LCD panel are starting to fail. No fix for this.

I had the same problem with a ASUS screen.
It was a bad connection on the panel. I fixed it with a little plastic to press on the place the connection was not good and now it is working well.

Check also caps, i think in these cases there's something bad at elettrical level, the connection get damaged.

                  Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                  by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

vizio e65 e3 LED tv color vertical lines center tv only
                  by viking509
I recently replaced the led backlights with LB65041 LED Backlight Strips and after putting it back together the backlights work but there are only colored vertical lines only in the center of the tv. I can see the Netflix logo (jumbled) after a minute or less the screen went dark. When I turned it on again the lines were back. Then I replaced the t-con board but the same vertical lines in the picture. My question is what is my next step? Could it be a source tab bond issue? A buffer board issue? Could I have loosened a connection to the panel when replacing the backlights? Should I replace the...

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Samsung Curved monitor C27FG70FQU with garbled vertical lines on startup
                  by jackster
I acquired a faulty curved Samsung C27FG70FQU which has the quite common problem of just showing weird vertical lines for a while after a cold boot.

The issue is pretty bad with this one and it takes about 15 minutes before things normalize and a proper image is displayed. Once a proper image is shown it will work 100% until the display is shut down or put in standby for a while and allowed to cool for a bit.

Even though this seems to be a quite common issue I haven't really found any information regarding what the root cause is and how to fix it. There is this video...

HP LP3065 monitor has developed vertical lines
                  by nick@nickarchdale.com
                  Hi all.

My much beloved and long serving monitor has slowly been developing a fault ever since I switched to Windows 7 and started "docking" two windows side by side using the Windows + arrow keys.

As you can see I've got the casing off (which was quite a struggle) but the thing very solidly built so some way to go to get at the panel which I presume is where the problem lies.

Any idea if this fixable or shall I put it on menial duties at my office?

                  Thanks,

                  Nick...
