    Axent SL-1600 powered sub

Hi all from NZ. I have a tricky one here. the subwoofer power on relay "chatters" on and off despite no signal input. output transistors are fine. no DC output to cause the protection circuit to engage.
    anyone seen this fault before?

resolder the relay and see if it still does it.

Usually if the relay chatters its supply voltage is low or has lots of ac ripple, check its voltage and see what it is and if its enough to keep the relay energized.

desolder the relay and power it from a battery or something - maybe it's bad.

Its time to show us some good clear pictures that show all the board to see how they are all connected together and the pictures of each board.

                    done that too

If applying DC directly to the (removed relay) relay coil and it still shattering then it has to be bad relay. BTW, when you apply the Voltage to the coil, what is the DCV of the coil Voltage?

its a 12v dc dpdt relay, on my bench supply it will still change over at 9V

So if you apply 12V to the relay coil, the relay DOES NOT shatter, right? So it clicks to close the contacts and stay that way until the power is taken away, If that is the case then you need to look at the relay drive circuit.
                        Or it still shatters?
BTW, typical pull-in Voltage for the relay coil is about 75% of the rated coil Voltage.

Looks like I may need a little help from the PSU experts (or anyone really! ) I have a Corsair CX750M (Model 75-002019) that I picked up for free about 4 years ago. This is the PSU:

So here’s what’s strange about this one: it appears to work normally (normal output voltages) and any PC is stable with it. However, after a while (typically 10-20 minutes, but time can vary depending on the load), there is a sweetish smell of burned magnet wire insulation emanating from the PSU. Upon opening the PSU after this happened (many times), I was able to confirm...

Yesterday I successfully repaired a Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP that had inadvertently been used as a surge suppressor at our transmitter site. It has already been replaced with an updated one but it's coming home with me now instead of being e-cycled. To be specific, this is the MA model that has the blue backlit display and has been discontinued, although this design may have been used in many UPS units including the smaller Middle Atlantic ones in this series.

Here's what happened: We experienced a brownout/surge at the site, which damaged the UPS and took our broadcasting...

                          by FrancescoV
                          Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
                          M:1.00/11107BLP
                          D:?.??/????????
                          O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

I've got a subwoofer that I've had for nearly 20 years, it did come with a basic remote which I've lost. It's a generic make of subwoofer, I can't see a brand sticker on it. It comes with 2 speakers.

Question recently I've connected it up to my tv which has greatly improved the sound on my tv, however I'd like to be able to mute the subwoofer when ads come on or just mute it when the phone rings etc. I tried using a cheap all in one tv remote on the subwoofer and the volume button would only work to increase volume but not turn it down or mute it

                          Is there a way of...
