    gas cooker ignition

    i have one of these:

does anybody know how you wire a 230v ignitor, or have a cooker schematic??

      nice.
what's confusing is the meter readings - it must have capacitors or something inside with the windings.
also where is the HV return???
      i see the primary,
and 4 seconary's for the electrodes but no ground??

Probably returning to GND... so does the igniter light all units at the same time regardless if it's needed or not? I guess it should be fine, cars do it all the time...

you're right. as same as gas BBQ grills.

i think they are build-ed inside ignitor.

not sure what meter readings you're referring to, but there must be duty cycle and current limiting inside the igniter, implying some sort of RC delay of sorts. Unfortunately the igniter is potted and no schematic is available?

Last time I had worked with a gas range, it seemed it had its own igniter per hob, I guess they've cheapened it since then...

i tried to get the resistance of the windings, they look open.
but they arent - it's a new module!!
reason for the questions is i want to re/mis-use it.

It is probably like a motorcycle wasted spark ignition, where one floating secondary connects to two spark plugs. So this igniter has two secondaries, four terminals.

                  Ahhhh... okay now I understand.

Yeah I would imagine there first needs to be some sort of isolation from mains to the outputs. That's one isolation.

Then I would imagine there may be a multiplier but that should show up as a high voltage diode in one direction... But don't know how they're designed inside the potting...

it does not explain where the HV return is.
i see in a cooker it sparks to mains earth, but the module has no connection to it.

sti: .... no resistance of the windings.....

no resistance of the windings is because transformer uses floating earth ground for safety reasons. when you have 2.4kv...anywhere can be ground....

it is an electrical resonant transformer circuit....a miniature Tesla coil or high voltage spark transformer.

you can use variac change 1/10 AC input voltage to ac 22v , make output voltage to 300v then add a diode and caps, now you have DC 320v for TV LED tester. or use for High voltage electronic fence. i think it has too much current for electrostimulation...I do not recommend.

                      eccerr0r.....a high voltage diode.....
i bet you inside this module just one Tesla coil no diode....and no HV cap.

TS/W10T-4A HV module maybe has 30pf / 100m ohm bypass circuit and it generates more than 20 kv . Be very careful when playing with that.

                          i had a thought,
maybe the secondary output and return are the first 2 connections and they arc to each other via the cooker body.
that's gonna complicate shit - i only want one spark - have to build a "safe" spark gap for the other pin.

i have it worked out now.
each pair of outputs is a secondary.
if you use both then it arc's via the cooker, but if you only use one then you ground the other end.

so the 4 output model actually has 2 secondary output coils.

to answer the last question, i'm trying to repair a Miele industrial cloths dryer with a 400€ ignitor failed in it!!
i'm not paying fucking 400€ when a brand new polish 4way ignitor costs under 3€ !!!!

Good day folks. A former colleague of mine recommended me to a relative of his and I got to speak to this man today in person. He's a bit of a mad scientist/tinkerer sort-of guy - just my kind of weirdo Apparently this chap builds all sorts of generators and wind turbines in his little shop at home and sells them here and there. He even showed me some footage of some of his inventions in action out in the field. However, as he himself very kindly put it, he's not good with electronics - he just designs and builds the generators (from scratch, I might add) and turns to others for the electronic...

I have an inverter generator that has two bad caps. One blew and the other was swollen.

My main issue is that the power supply
is encased in some type of epoxy.

My main concerns are regarding the epoxy and its purpose. I can imagine that it helps with vibration should I also be concerned with sparks since it's a gasoline generator?

The plan is to break off the old caps, cut the old legs off, clear out the solder points, then solder from the top since I cant get to the backside of the board.

This means that the legs of the caps...

Hi. Could anyone with knowledge advise if this pcb in photos can be repaired? I'm willing to spend time and money on it to gain experience however I searched net for schematics and couldn't find so it's impossible to know what are some of burnt components. I can't find any second hand replacement board and new one is out of my budget and it exceeds value of cooker. I'm new to this forum but have had few successful pcb repairs of tv's and cooker pcbs and also made few working circuits for fun. Any help appreciated. Regards....

                                          Hello.
I am troubleshooting a parkside induction cooker. The bord had a microcontroller ic with marking IH001 (dip24) which i think is faulty. Any ideas what this IC is, to purchase internationally? Otherwise there is a VIPer12a which seems working fine. No other defective components were found.
                                          Best regards.
