A gas stove/range/cooker does not need flame sense.
In gas appliances such as furnace, hot water heater, clothes dryer etc. the igniter electrode is also the flame sensor electrode.
The Kanthal rod has a dual purpose - HV sparker and flame detect.
So you can add an igniter to the Miele, but it must also have flame sense in order to work properly.Comment

Silicon Carbide Hot Surface Igniter operates white hot 1800F and knowing its resistance would not tell you if a flame is present.
All metal's resistance increases with temperature. Burner controllers monitor current to know if the hot surface ignitor is broken, open circuit. They use a separate flame sensor rod with them.
You still need to know the flame is lit, or else an explosion danger if the gas solenoid stays on and gas builds up.
Flame sense is rectification/ionization for small appliances. Big big furnaces and industrial heaters use UV flame detection. Very sensitive, can detect a lit candle 20ft. away. Should be in kitchen smoke alarms.
I just wanted to make sure it's known the Miele module could do more than spark ignition only.Comment

Pure metals typically have positive temperature coefficients of resistance. Coefficients approaching zero can be obtained by alloying certain metals. A negative coefficient for a material means that its resistance decreases with an increase in temperature.
Silicon carbide elements also change in resistance with temperature. The resistance is fairly high at room temperature, falls with increasing temperature to a minimum value at about 800°C, and then increases with temperature.Comment

Apparently this chap builds all sorts of generators and wind turbines in his little shop at home and sells them here and there. He even showed me some footage of some of his inventions in action out in the field. However, as he himself very kindly put it, he's not good with electronics - he just designs and builds the generators (from scratch, I might add) and turns to others for the electronic...

by PM5KI have an inverter generator that has two bad caps. One blew and the other was swollen.
My main issue is that the power supply
is encased in some type of epoxy.
My main concerns are regarding the epoxy and its purpose. I can imagine that it helps with vibration should I also be concerned with sparks since it's a gasoline generator?
The plan is to break off the old caps, cut the old legs off, clear out the solder points, then solder from the top since I cant get to the backside of the board.
This means that the legs of the caps...-

So, I'm having an issue with about 13 year old Agilent Function Generator. it works, passes self-test, but it has an annoying "audible" noise, that changes as I change the output frequency setting of the instrument. Prominent around 600 Hz and up (at least that's what my ears are picking up.) I saw on some forms that it could be fan, linear regulator, dried up caps,... I can't seem to find the source of audible noise. Here is what I tried:

I'm willing to spend time and money on it to gain experience however I searched net for schematics and couldn't find so it's impossible to know what are some of burnt components. I can't find any second hand replacement board and new one is out of my budget and it exceeds value of cooker. I'm new to this forum but have had few successful pcb repairs of tv's and cooker pcbs and also made few working circuits for fun. Any help appreciated. Regards....

I am troubleshooting a parkside induction cooker. The bord had a microcontroller ic with marking IH001 (dip24) which i think is faulty. Any ideas what this IC is, to purchase internationally? Otherwise there is a VIPer12a which seems working fine. No other defective components were found.
