    Panasonic

Now that they're not Matsushita anymore, what's gonna happen to their iconic M logo?

Is that going away, or are they still using it even though the entire company including components is now Panasonic?

    Re: Panasonic

I thought that they were always the same company.

I thought Matsushita was a subsidiary of Panasonic.

Or was Matsu at one time a separate company absorbed by Panasonic?

Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

Basically Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. changed its company name to Panasonic Corporation beginning October 1, 2008. Full changeover to be completed by 2010.

Matsushita, which had used the Panasonic brand for mostly audio/video gear, changed its name to Panasonic three months ago.
Weird asks if the old M logo will be changed too.

The dude that started Matsushita and the dude that started Panasonic are like brother-in-laws or or father/son-in-law something.

The merger is to be completed by April 2009, and will result in one mega-corporation with revenues over ¥11.2 trillion (around $110 billion). As part of what will be Japan's biggest electronics company, the Sanyo brand and most of the employees will be retained. [15]"
