Is the MOSFET switch for 5V standby Transformer OK ? If not, please check the primary winding of standby 5V trans.

As long as temp and ripple current does not exceed the capacitor ratings, it should be fine.
I don't think it s a good choice to use those ELNA caps on PSU 12v rails. I will try to post the specification of similar ELNA 16V, 3300uF on Monday. The ripple current rating is quite low IIRC....Leave a comment:

0.5R 72W (max) Resistive Load
I made 10 pcs of 72W 0.5Ohm load module for +5V rail loading test. Each modules can sink 10A ( 50W ). The resistor body temperature hits ~170 oC in just 5 minutes. It sure needs fan cooling ... PCB temperature is about 110 oC.

Hi. Toasty, that black color thing is thermistor ( inrush current limiter ), not MOV. MOVs are usually covered by shrinkable tube.
HIPRO is PSU manufacturer, OEM for Compaq, HP, Dell, etc. I do not work for them
