Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1 BIOS repair

    Good day,

I have tried to remove BIOS supervisor password from Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1. Model number CF-33AENABTG, unfortunately I don't have any other info.

I read the BIOS using afuwin, edited it and tried to flash new edited BIOS using afuwin. Unsuccessfully. Afuwin showed "Error: Problem erasing flash." starting with 0x00040000 and stoped. Then I tried many other options to flash BIOS from Windows without any luck. Finally i rebooted the device - and no post. Afterwards I have read the corrupted bios chip (MX25L12873F) using EZP2010 programmer.

Now i have 3 ".bin" files (attached):
    1) original BIOS read from Windows using Afuwin before corruption (only BIOS area)
    2) BIOS read from Windows using Afuwin after corruption (FF'ed part of BIOS area)
    3) dump read from the chip itself using EZP2010 programmer (whole chip, but corrupted)

BIOS areas in these files are not the same: difference is not only in Afuwin FF'ed area, but also some other places have slight differences (I don't know why - maybe Afuwin also edited this, maybe chip was read with errors, maybe ater unsuccessful POSTing there are made some changes in BIOS). I have tried to combine useful file using these files in many different variations without any luck - no post.

I tried to write the chip using clip without desoldering. Verification passes.
I thought that EZP2010 couldn't write these chips correctly, ordered and tried with CH341A - still no luck.

I have also read BIOS chip from another similar Panasonic CF-33 and flashed it to the bricked machine also without any luck - bricked machine doesn't post.

Maybe someone could have a look what i am doing wrong?

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
      by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

      🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
      by macabook
      Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
      🧩 Initial Issue
      • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
      • External display (HDMI) shows

Panasonic CF-20G0247VM BIOS Bad Flash Help
      by James Jackson
I usually try to figure these things out on my own but am asking for help now as I have been beating my head against a wall.

Backstory, I initially ended up with a CF20 Mk2 with a locked BIOS. I used aptio to read the BIOS and made the adjustments to the .rom file and attempted to write it back with aptio before reading other users problems with that setup. Well it bricked the BIOS go figure. Computer no longer boots, black screen. I found a clean BIOS on this forum but now I am having ME issues. So I would rather hand over the aptio dump(pre BIOS brick) and a hardware reader dump(post...
