Opened the exhaust fan from furnace and condenser of the cooler HAVC which on top of the furnace.

PS: This Goodman system, Id changed 10uf capacitor for blower fan, control PCB, flame roll out switch and sprayed rust prevention.

PS: I found out the water leak is from fireplace chimney thought the furnace's exhaust fan, not from AS- I- Thought-condenser of the cooler ! (pic15)

PS: the Cooler Coating spray (Homedepot) is a nasty stuff like TAR.

I think TV repair business is SUCKs better than TV repair business SUCKs, it mearns TV repair business is going to be SUCK, or

"you did not have HVAC license"...........OK, Who told you, The Boss needs the license..I am a investor and hire 3 peoples have HVAC licenses then I can sale and service the HVAC unit. Kinda like I open a hospital and hire MDs work for me...................

PS: Service HVAC is much easier than repair TV. PLs don't bug me........ My Personal Opinion.

PS: Crane one time charge $250, customer metal ductwork $250, two HVAC tech.s daily salary about &240 each.

i'm an amateur.........This is my preconceived opinions , Hope, someone might give me better ideas. let us save money together.

How to clean the copper fittings and connectors: brush with WD40 then heavy grease. (prevent freon leakage)

PS: Why I said "brush with WD40" ......I [canopener] the non-air-WD40 can, correct the oil, put in the cosmetic spray bottle, reuse it.

How to clean the fins of the condenser: First DustOff + spray vinegar + brush with baking soda powder + water off the bubbles.

How do I know if my current air conditioner uses what kind of refrigerant? Most air conditioners have a nameplate on the unit that identifies the type of refrigerant it contains.

I believe the temperatures in your picture are wrong. After the expansion valve it needs to be above 32 F so condensation does not freeze on evaporator. I also believe after compressor it will be much higher than 150 F.

If you want to go into this you could take a 9 month course and get a certificate. Then you could work 1 to 2 years in the field. Finally you could start your own business. That way you would be well versed in the field. The reason these guys get paid a lot of money is because it is a physical/mental job like a mechanic. You could get paid well as a lineman for the power company. If you went into medical electronics you would be paid well.

I only know air conditioning changes gas to liquid, liquid to gas. That is all my knowledge.

i have two friends both have HVAC certifications, they are all doing something else because of the harsh weather and toughness of the jobs.

I cleaned two outdoor Condenser and Compressor units, Kinda like this one. Look at this one! What does yours look like?

I will check the Capacitors next time.

Your right the evaporator coil temp would need to be more than 32*F other wise it would freeze

40 to 50 *F Evaporator coil temp but ---> one way to really check this is take a reading on ether side of the evaporator coil you need at least 15* F difference between the two reading

The condenser coil would any where from 120* to 180* air discharge temp depending on how old the unit is but---> one way to check this is the liquid line temp should only some what warm to the touch not hot

The evaporator coil temp does need to be above freezing but the actual liquid temp will be below freezing before the evap. Reduced airflow across the coils will cause frost/ice to form because not enough heat is removed from the air to keep the coils above 32. A clogged air filter and incorrect blower speed, too low, are 2 simple things to look for. Another cause is an under charge of the system, the reduced pressure in the lines will allow the phase change from liquid to gas to occur at a lower temperature.

A 15 degree temp drop is a little low in my experience. Once the environment has stabilized it should probably be closer to 18-20. The best thing is to refer to the manufacturers charts to see what it really should be. High indoor humidity along with high outside air temp will reduce the temp drop.

What you have there is very true
I was basing this on older units that did not have high efficiency and that was the hard fast rule back then

Now if one of newer units that has a VFD fan motor then yes the temp difference will be 18* to 20* F
It could even be a little more more than that if has a temp sensor on the evaporator coil

Test Run Capacitors and change compressor electric connectors.

                              A unit 5/40uf tested are 4.31/38.5 uf

                              B unit 5/40uf tested are 4.2/36.2 uf

It seems to be OK , I Ordered two of Run Capacitors gonna change them anyway.

PS: The Electric wire 220v terminals look really bad. I changed them. Will put some solder next time.

Ordered two new 5/40uf and changed them for Preventive maintenance.

PS: 5 uf is for Fan, 40 uf is for Compressor.

This is just me BUT when I one pole contacter I change them on site
Here is why I do this with one pole contacter only break one side of 220 so that means that you still have 120 volts going to the compressor and fan not problem unless you have a short in either the fan or compressor to me this is not a good thing I always use two pole contacter for this reason

Yes, 2 pole compressor contactor is better......

                                      1 vs. 2 pole contactors
I have always replaced the contactor with the same thing that was already in the unit. If it was a single pole, put a single pole back. But the other day I was told that I could just use a double pole for for all replacements.

Goodman puts single poles on all their builders units doesn't seem to make a difference in the long run I think they're just cheaper.

The reason they use a single pole contactor is two fold, first, and foremost, it is cheaper. However, in theory, it saves them from having to furnish a crankcase heater for the compressor by applying 120 volts across the motor windings of the compressor, keeping the oil warm that is in the crankcase.

Now you know.....the REST of the story!
