Trying to Save - Samsung UN55JS6500 - A line down the screen + Falling LED diffusers

    Picked this one up today.
In addition to falling LED diffusers there is a single line here that maybe a deal breaker.
From my reading on these boards it is said that the issue is likely a sign of failed tab drivers, ribbons or tab bonding to the panel.
Wanted to get a 2nd opinion from you guys before I gave up the ghost.
    Great looking TV otherwise.

Is there any tricks I can do to try to save this one?
If so, i'll gladly order a set of backlights and save this one from the landfill..

    Thanks in advance

Trash most likely. You can try putting pressure on the tab when tv is on and see if it goes away, if so you may be able to tape it down.. hasn't worked for me yet

I hear this all the time, the person never noticed. I really wonder if they are just that out of present time, or just can't resist lying.

Is there any spot in particular i should try to press on the panel board?
Should i be focussing on the actual COF or the film section that is bonded to the board or on the other side (to the actual display)?
The i made a blue line at the spot where the line shows up on the display.

Both sides. And everywhere I guess. Both sides. I've seen it work in videos but have not been able to reproduce. And yes where they meet the board/screen.

Nomoresonys pointed this idea out on another TV I was working on recently...

This video i found online gives an even better explanation of what's going on and how to possibly go about fixing it.

Fix Your TV with a TOOTHBRUSH | Fixing Vertical Lines

I'll take another look tonight to see if I can find anything.

So i had another look tonight.
Felt up these COFs more than Ive felt up my wife in years and didnt see any difference in the line.
The tab bonds on both the driver boards as well as the panel look very good.
No corrosion or tears or anything.
Is there a way to test the COFs themselves?
Other than that i may have a short of some sort somewhere... possibly inside the panel.
The COFs are warm to the touch. Some are hotter than others.

This would be a perfect candidate to cut traces to eliminate a short if indeed there is a short somewhere.
I will likely discard this unit as the cost of a new set of backlights plus the unsightly line which would remain makes it not worth trying to give this to someone.
But if I can somehow eliminate the line then I wouldn't mind with a new set of LED backlights.

So where do I start identifying if a short exists? I see a good number of videos on the topic but they are mostly in Hindi or Bangla and there are no subtitles.

don't ask me why, i know you believe is panel fault, but just try and pray..

you can also try an half reflow, to start with for diagnosing purpose.. believe me

My apologies but i already stripped the TV of its components. I have never been any good with with reflowing bad joints on BGAs either....
