Cisco 1802 Router Damaged by Lightning

    Hi All

    I need some help.

I had one unit of Cisco 1802 which was damaged by lightning.
As attached you can see that the capacitor has been charred / burnt out.

The Fuse has been tested with a DMM and it was found to be open.

I know that getting cisco schematics are difficult.

Looking for values for C260 and C261

and curious on what is CR20 and CR22, which I believe is a protection diode.
Just wanna check how it is tested, made by ST ML16 C723

    Thanks in advance.

I noticed that cr usually do not refer to a diode . You can affirm that if there isn't an anode bar on it .. I think they are some capacitance resistance like their abbreviation say .

cr look like some type of diode - maybe a zener surge protector.

i would meter them, and the windings on that coil

Somehow yes .. Looking at older routers reveal that this piece is a surge protector , but it's not a diode , or at least in testing purposes .

connected to ground from a data line - very low - probably in the pF's but high voltage to survive spikes.

you find stuff like that in modems and old set-top boxes with a fone connection.

                    Hello Everyone.
This powerful amplified subwoofer doesn't make any sound after lightning striked near the house were it was plugged in.
                    It consists in :
                    • a power board were the full H bridge class D amplifier and main power rails are located
                    • a preamp board (ref. F.01U.299.771) receiving 2 symetrical inputs(IN1, IN2), a digital chain (A-D converter -> Digital Signal Processor -> D-A converter) and a micro controler in charge (at least) of the human interface (lcd display and 1 rotating button)
                    Power rails are ok.
                    human interface is working fine
                    Input levels are...

The power surge came-I think- through the DSL line. TV gave a very audible pop and died. (Ethernet ports in modem were all killed too). Power light on TV was dead. I ordered a "Complete LED TV Repair Parts Kit" from shopjimmy.com and installed everything ( https://www.shopjimmy.com/sony-xbr-5...air-parts-kit/ ). TV will turn on for about 30 seconds or so then shut down. Power light flashes 7 times repeatedly. I've seen that this indicates a high voltage shutdown.? But-where is this coming from since I've replaced power supply, main board, etc.? I see that shopjimmy...

                    Hello Guys

I have a ASUS Rog strix laptop that I bought recently to fix and the previous owner spilled water on it . He brought it into a repair shop for them to check it out and instead of fixing it they damaged the battery connector of the laptop ! Other than that they damaged damaged nothing . But since the liquid damage the laptop only turns on and the keyboard lights up and then immediately turns off. I really want to repair this laptop and I also have experience in repairing phones etc and laptops and a bit of soldering but the diagnosing part is where I need help with and...

Identification of Component T5 on NEXIQ USB-Link 2 (damaged due to crushing)
                    by Tomylee
                    Hi everyone,
I'm currently repairing a NEXIQ USB-Link 2 that was physically damaged due to crushing. After a thorough inspection, it appears that only one component is visibly damaged: the T5 component, located right next to the Mini-USB port.

It's a 4-pin SMD component, with one pin at each corner, aligned front-to-back along the USB port axis. Unfortunately, it is broken, and there are no visible markings left on the part to identify it.

I'm looking for help with the following:

The exact identification or part number of the T5 component
                    ...
