I bought a Vizio 55" 3D TV worth approximately $1,100. I did not get extended warranty because I was confident with Vizio's reliability. I do not understand why "extended warranty" should be at the expense of the customer. A good appliance should last more than 6 years like our Sharp 45". I am a low income earner but I thought buying an American brand is a good investment and my little way of help to USA. However, the TV broke 20 months after or a mere 8 months after the 12-year manufacturer warranty. I'm not even done paying it under Walmart's 24-month interest free installment. ITI, which is Vizio's repair center arm, quoted $334.50 for parts and repair. I politely asked for assistance from Vizio considering that it was only 8 months out of the warranty. Vizio's "assistance" was offering a newer TV, an E55-C1 worth $599.99 which does not have the 3D feature that we were enjoying, with a "$50" discount amounting to $549.99 +tax and take our old TV. I am hesitant accepting this "assistance" because it does not sound like "assistance" at all. I asked if Vizio could instead help with the repair cost but I received a negative response.
I feel like I was screwed over.
