    On THAT ONE yes.
On ones that float the neg side of the rectifier, no.

Anyway to sum it up - if you're serious about troubleshooting SMPS you need a two channel oscilloscope.
Or a differential probe but those bastards can cost more than a 2 channel scope.

Now that makes perfect sense to me. However not to Th3_uN1Qu3 and I still don't understand why. If it is floated then it has potential above ground.

In the example schematic it is not floating please can you explain MR uN1Qu3.

          No.
          -Different- than ground.
It can also float below ground. [Negative Potential.]

            Re: Oscilloscope

Since my purchase I noticed the 2nd channel was not working properly. It started off okay, but as soon as the scope warmed up the line would start to look like it was digitizing and would bounce around all over the screen. I decided that I would contact the seller seeing that he really was a nice guy and he told me to bring it over so he can take a look at it. I figure the guy repairs CAT scan machines for a living this wouldn't be an issue for him. He decided that due to the lack of time he had it would be a better idea for me to just give him back the oscilloscope and gave me a Tektronix 2221a. WOW! What a difference, this machine is awesome! He made me feel bad so I left a $50 bill on his work bench. Now this scope is 100MHz and it has 4 banks for saved storage. I think this was a GREAT upgrade from the 2220! Anyways, I think for once in my life I came out good. out of a bad situation!!!!!!

Macbook Pro A2141 020-01700-A GPU Artifacts then no S5 rails

                Hello everyone,

This is my first post on the forum

I recently purchased a MacBook A2141 from a colleague at work, which had issues with the dedicated GPU. The system occasionally displayed artifacts on the screen and sometimes experienced kernel panics related to the GPU. Interestingly, applying pressure to the VRAM module would temporarily resolve the artifact issues, which made me optimistic about the ease of repair.

MacBook Pro M1 Pro Logic Board 820-02100 Mosfet where to purchase?
                by prodigy83
                My reference only: TT10141.

Problem: I need to purchase a mosfet chip from board 820-02100 M1 Pro, that is supposed to be Q5820 but according to Digikey, the schematic diagram I sent them, neither are relevant to the actual mosfet specification I sent them. I just basically need to find this mosfet to purchase, I cannot find it anywhere and am hoping someone could point me in the right direction without have to purchase this entire allusive board. Already checked with Digikey, Mouser, Aliexpress, eBay. Any suggestions?

                Mosfet specs are as follows:

                Dynamco analogue oscilloscope
                by Evets
I have recently acquired a Dynamco D7100 analogue oscilloscope without a user manual. As this is the first time I have owned or used an oscilloscope I would like to try and find an instruction book. The manufacturers no longer hold any information and a Google search only found one site but when I downloaded a 'service manual' all I got was gobbledegook. Any help would be gratefully appreciated or even pointers to a generic manual where I could learn more.

                HP Probook 650 G4 - Lost power?During AMT de-provision process, now I get blackscreen
                by rive.hafintosh
First here is how things went down.

I entered the bios and began to de-provision Intel AMT - it began with a reboot and then prompted me to de-provision AMT - proceed Y/N -
I pressed Y and hit enter, and I thought the PC shutdown, but perhaps it actually lost power at this point. I had the power adapter plugged in but apparently the plug from the wall came out of the brick when I wasn't noticing so 1 of two things could have happened…
Something went wrong with the process, or it lost power during the process and corrupted something
I tried making a HP recovery...
