Hello, I have a DELL XPS 9550 which powers on and does nothing. I am suspecting the bios to be corrupted. I noticed that this laptop has 3 flash IC's. Can somebody please provide me a working dump of all 3 ic's UH8 16MB, UT5 4MB, UT2 1MB? Thank you in advance!

Re: DELL XPS 9550 bios dumps
Thanks for the reply. I tried those dumps. At first boot I get the bottom orange led's blinking, but no new behavior. Does anybody have the full set of 3 dumps for this laptop? Thanks!Comment

Re: DELL XPS 9550 bios dumps
Do you have your original dump? I've extracted bios file from Dell bios update exe-s on newer models and merged them with original dump. Thus far I have only needed to program the 16MB EEPROMs.Comment

Re: DELL XPS 9550 bios dumps
Worked like a charm. Thank you for sharing.
I had to switch back to UEFI in the settings to boot Windows.
Just FYI so you won't go around and desolder all 3 bioses to figure out which 0ne it is.

Re: DELL XPS 9550 bios dumps
Hello,
I am facing a similar, probably worst, issue with a XPS 15 9550 that is almost dead :
- first push on power button = lights on
- second push = nothing, no fan spin, no screen back-light.
- power led goes off after 10 sec
- LCD auto-test (d+power) never fires
- battery side indicator lights up, but i suspect it always display full battery, although that may be wrong.
- Battery charging led lights up when connected to PSU.
I tried to flash the main bios with the bin that you guys had success with, but with no luck. I also flashed the to other W25Q chips with bins i got from a working identical model. No better.
Its probably worthless, but i want to give it a final try using three bins extracted from a model that was saved by flashing the clean_me rom provided here. I dont't now, maybe those i have don't match and fail when calling each other on incorrect physical addresses.
Can anyone who successfully flashed the main clean_ME be kind enough to dump the bin of the two other W25Q and deposit them here?
Thanks in advanceComment

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by mikeybassHi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...

by capoplaysHey everyone,
I recently bought a Dell G15 5515 with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and 3060 RTX. The BIOS chip on it was dead, and my hardware guy replaced the chip. After that, everything was working fine.
The BIOS is currently at version 1.22.1, and I wanted to update it. I downloaded the latest BIOS version from Dell Support using my ST: FQZMYJ3, but when I tried to run it, it says "unsupported system." I asked my tech guy what he did, and he said he took the chip from another board and flashed it onto mine.
When I check the BIOS using the F12 menu Flash...-

by Akhlz001Hi,
Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...-

by SathsulSo, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...-
