On my Deluxe, no signs of shit solder joints. It looks safe to say that the bizarro problem is being caused by the XFX Radeon RX 580.

Because of not expecting that bizarro thing to be related to the video card, I just went ahead with getting another motherboard from a seller on eBay, which don't look scummy, thank the Lord. IIRC, they're from Hollister, California.

I've actually had better luck so far than with 3B Tech back in January, 2013, for the Asus Maximus II Gene motherboard, (socket 775) which the first time, received one that failed to boot and then I saw bad socket pins! At least, none of that type of bullplop, AFAIK. But 3B Tech saved my bacon! On February 11, 2013, I finally received a Maximus II Gene that's OK, hooray! (On February 11, 2013, wondering if 3B Tech just sent me back the same motherboard in the same condition, I went ahead anyway!) There was a long moment of silence and thus, it looked like the money of the time, was going down the toilet!

Elitebook 820 G3 engineering example: CMOS settings lost despite new cell
      by i440bx
      Hey there,

I got a HP Elitebook 820 G3 Engineering Sample Laptop and I want to use it. Besides the difficult things at the ES-BIOS I have a big problem by saving the main BIOS settings.

The laptop does not have a big battery because it was dead, but I already plugged in a new CMOS battery.

It takes about 5min without power and the BIOS settings are lost. Unfortunatly I dont understand why the BIOS settings are only saved with power connected and this is the reason why I registered here.

As written above, I plugged in a new CMOS cell and checked...

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
      by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will...

Asus ROG Ally X -RC72LA - changed hidden bios settings with 'Smokeless-UMAF', won't get past boot logo

ASUS ROG Ally X - (Handheld Gaming PC)
      Model No: RC72LA
      Serial No: SBNVKD001014459

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

Asus A8N-E BIOS settings lost when unplugged
      by bigbeark
I finally got this one to boot after removing and replacing the RAM several times. The first boot was really slow. I finally saw the monitor LED stop blinking and after an endless wait it finally booted into the BIOS. After checking the BIOS battery again (fine) it now boots up quickly, but loses the BIOS settings after it's unplugged.

I have another one of these that has the same BIOS loss when unplugged.

      Any fix for this?
