Need opinion on what large lot of laptops are worth.

A guy not to far from me went bankrupt and sold off everything he had a few months back and I went in and bought everything he had, total was about 120 laptops and boxes upon boxes of parts, hdd's, ram, lcd screens, and some motherboards new and unopened.

Long story short I basically got them home pulled all the newer stuff out, anything less than 5 years old, and fixed it. I am now left with a bunch of crap I do not want taking up space.

Basically, thinking about putting a lot on craigslist for sale and sell them all at one time but not sure what to ask for them. There are NO hard drives, ram, or chargers. There are about 10-11 IBM thinkpads from PII - PIII, 12 Dell (the old black ones) with PII - P4 processors, and a bunch of other random computers. There are about 40 complete and another 10-20 in halves. I know there are at least 10-15 of them that power right up and work perfectly, just no internal wifi slots.

So what do you guys think is a good price for all these? I only paid $300 for everything and I have probably made over $2000 already and still got some left to sell as well as all kinds of extra parts I'm keeping.

That was a good score man(thumbs up) . If I were you I would list them at $500 and see what happens. Let somebody talk you down you know what I mean...

the older ones that can be made to work for nothing but bare minimums of expense or just your time, fix them and donate them to charitable organizations, it will create a nice tax deduction for you. The outright junk, send it to the recycler or sell it all for 10 bucks or whatever anyone would be willing to pay.

I did a lot of these kinds of things with Dell USFF desktops....I'd buy large lots, recap them and get them all running perfect.... After that, they'd be sold at a phone call....couldn't keep them around.

I just listed them with no price and said I would like to get $6-$10 each for them but would entertain offers.

        You should have seen it before I picked through, at least 4 hp dv6000, 2 dv2000, dv9000, g60, cq62, toshiba a205, l205, c655, bunch of dell d610's and d600's, even a dell xps plus a bunch of acers and 5 mini's.

I got really lucky on that one, one of those right place right time kinda things.

Yeah, I should sell some of these tv's sitting here I'm probably never gonna fix, lol. I got 5 LCD's and 2 plasmas just collecting dust, most just need main boards.

Unless those were the ones you already picked through, Some you may be able to sell separately for more. The DV6000 and DV9000 are worth something. As are the D600 and D610... Good laptops indeed.

If I were local I'd take a look at the old ones... they bring back memories.

Those are the ones I kept, still got a couple of the d600 series ones here. Most the dv series all had bad gpu's, reflowed them and got em going agian.

If anyone on here is interested I'm about right in the middle between nashville and memphis TN. Or if needing any parts let me know.

Any Dell C400 series stuff in there?

                    Or a dell C_40 (C640, C840, etc.)?

I think there is at least 1-2 c640's and c840's. Anything in particular you need.

Nah, just curious. Actually, Maybe I should be asking about the c_10 series; I have 512mb of PC133 SDRAM with no home.

C_10 is one below the c_40. No 20's or 30's. Pentium III mobile (tualatin).

Older yet woul be the c_00 series (PIII Coppermine, won't work with my RAM) or the non-numbered C series (PII and older).

If they don't have hard drives, RAM, or power supplies, I don't think you'll be able to get much for them. The individual parts may be worth a lot more, though (CPU, motherboard, screen, inverter, etc.). The high-end Pentium 4's should be alright.

IMO, the Pentium 3s and IIs make nice simple file servers though (for documents or to mess on, that is), and they are pretty efficient too.

I think have a busted one. Cracked screen, lost the HDD caddy (may find it someday, maybe). 333mhx PII dixon. I may have pulled the RAM (I have a spare 128mb PC100 module sitting). Ran up until I busted the screen. Even the battery has some life left (ran for 30 mins under wi2k)

I also have a 1024x768 panel from a HP EVO Nc6000... not sure if it's the same size, if so, then I might have what you're looking for.

I would honestly be happy to get $100 for them, just really need the space, can't pull car in garage because of them. I added 8 good 14.1 and 15" screens to the lot.

I'm curious what techniques everyone uses to remove/move/lift large LCD TV panels when doing backlight repairs. I typically use two large suction cups, but lifting a 65" panel off a LG a month ago and I got a little too close to the wall and accidentally crammed the corner of the panel into the wall (gouged the drywall even) which resulted in a single crack all the way across the panel. Thankfully I just do this as a hobby on TV's that I scrounge up to repair and sell, so I didn't have to make a dreaded phone call to a customer.

That incident got me thinking about making some...

Samsung QE55Q65B with shorted D001 diodes on panel board: Worth saving or not

                                          Hi

I have a Samsung QE55Q65B with a seemingly common problem: it turn off and back on after a few seconds, (sometimes more, and in rare instances works for hours). D001 on the left side of the panel is very hot. I may be able to remove it with a very fine iron, but i don't have the equipment to re-solder such small parts.

Is there a risk to run the tv without this diodes diodes? And is it worth to pay someone else to replace it. I read many people who ended up with bad lines after trying to remove/replace them, , or the panel failing in another way, so i want to weight...

I got a High Power HP1-J600GD-F12S on the bench today that was killed by roaches judging by the dead roaches and large brown spots in the housing next to said roaches.

I was able to identify all the blown smd resistors on the board aside from the one located at R69. I wasn't able to figure out what any of the marking on the resistor was supposed to be and with how little of the marking was left I wasn't able to really make any guesses about what it could be from the surrounding components. It is connected to pin 1 of Q11 (4N65SFA1K) which looks like it is the gate .In the sample...

                                          by Cartel
I will be pulling my crown vic ECU and recapping it. 3 in total, 47uf 16v x2 and a 10uf 63v
I hope they havent puked yet. I was thinking of replacing them with Aluminum - Polymer thru hole caps. probably 47uf 25v and 10uf 80v
They arent cheap. Anyone have any experience with them? Am I wasing my money on premium caps?

Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 w/ large vertical lines & no picture

I'm not sure what to do next and came here since y'all helped me fix a 50" plasma TV back in 2014, which is still working!

A friend gave me an Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 50" TV that suddenly developed large vertical lines on it. He said he had no idea what might have caused it and has replaced it with a larger TV. He was going to throw it away.

I did not notice any bulged or leaking caps on any board, the voltages produced by the power supply match the voltage that the pins are marked. The backlight leds are working. I have tried cleaning the ribbon cables...
