I have several "donor" vestel psu (but none is an exact match) so i would like to try a fix before ordering another one.
And yes, i have a dim bulb tester, but i forgot i replaced the 100w bulb by a 1500w R7s lamp for another project. no wonder the fuse popped....

Vestel 17IPS62 power suply: Diode bridge and mosfet keeps blowing
HI. I have a problem with a Vestel 17IPS62 power supply, from a Panasonic TV (i don't have the model number, the sticker is unreadable).
First, i found a blown fuse, 2 shorted diodes on the bridge rectifier. Also, the 2 diodes (D36 and D37 from the snubber circuit are blackened, like they got hot There is also signs of heating on the insulating plastic where the mosfet is. But they are fine. I replaced the rectifying diodes, the snubber diodes and the fuse. Secondary diodes are all fine

THomson 32fz5243 (TCl chassis) lines and distorted picture. Is it the T-con or the panel
HI. I have a Thomson 32fz5243 TV (based on a TCL chassis) that start showing lines and picture gets more and more distorted after a few minutes of operation. I already fixed a few bulged capacitors on the psu but the problem is still here.
Can this symptoms be caused by a bad T-con or the panel is toast? I would really prefer not having to order a t-con for nothing.... -

Hi.
I'm trying to repair a Fujitsu air conditioner. The primary of the low voltage supply is shorted (D10, R410 and Q1). On the schematics, Q1 is a 2SC4236 but i found a 2sc5354 on the board (solder looks original)
Both transistors are only available from unreliable sources like aliexpress
Is there any equivalent i can use on this power suply? Alltransistors only shows even more unavailable references... -
Samsung eu58tu6928k - Short on CK3 line -
Hello.
I have a Samsung eu58tu6928k with the dreaded bootloop fault.
No external tcon, one 96 pins ribbon between mainboard and the left side of the panel, and a ribbon to the right side.
I narrowed the problem down to the CK03 line. When i isolate only this line on the ribbon joining the 2 halves of the panel, the tv boots, but the picture is quite bad. I also tested all MLCC caps on the panel, no short so far. Is there anything i can try before ruling the panel, and the whole tv as scrap?... -
Its probably 37pfl5604h, the sticker is hard to read. And i can confirm, after disassembling the screen, the backlight seems very "warm". So i dumped the tv to the recycling center, and i got lucky, someone was about to throw a 55 inch LG with bad leds. I guess its a win for meLeave a comment:

Philips 37pfl560: Yellow picture
HI.
I have a weird problem with an old Philips 37pfl560 TV i put out of storage: the picture have a noticeable yellow hue, and its not caused by the settings (did a factory reset). I've never seen this before. I will try to get a photo with a real camera, with my phone its hard to see because of automatic white balance, but in real live the whites are really yellow.
Anyone have an idea of what can cause this? Can CCFL tubes get "warmer" with time? This tv have several analog inputs,so its nice for retrogaming.... -
Samsung QE55Q65B with shorted D001 diodes on panel board: Worth saving or not
Hi
I have a Samsung QE55Q65B with a seemingly common problem: it turn off and back on after a few seconds, (sometimes more, and in rare instances works for hours). D001 on the left side of the panel is very hot. I may be able to remove it with a very fine iron, but i don't have the equipment to re-solder such small parts.
Is there a risk to run the tv without this diodes diodes? And is it worth to pay someone else to replace it. I read many people who ended up with bad lines after trying to remove/replace them, , or the panel failing in another way, so i want to weight... -

Thank you. The mainboard in my tv was dead, so, i bought one on ebay. It now gives me a red and yellow light, from what i understand it needs to have the firmware updated to recognize the panel.

The main board (bn94-09121q) on my UE43J5500 is dead. I can't find the exact same board for a reasonable price, but some other part numbers are pretty cheap, they are physically identical, and based on the bn41-0235 board
Can i swap the bn94-09121q by another "letter", like a bn94-09121N, or even from anoter screen size? -

Hi everybody.
I have a Samsung UE43J5500 with a bad main board: No red light, and zero reaction from the remote or the power button. The PSU seems ok: 8.6V when plugged in, 12V and the backlight turning on when disconnected from main board. I also found 3.3v at the ir receiver, the power button also seems ok (i get 1.8v at the key_input1 test point, and it drops to zero when the button is pressed.
Is there anything i can try before tossing this board? I'm running out of ideas -
