Re: Need help finding LED backlight fuse [PICS]
SOLVED, I have a asus k44h that i repaired a charging port on and had no backlight, well finally found the problem. In the pic below the (fuse???) circled in red had 17.98v going and 0v coming out, it has the letter/number O on it. I checked other identical chips and that had 0 resistance, so replaced it with one from an old board, power on and I have led backlight again.
Hope this helps, and ignore my poor soldering job, very hard on these small chips....

I changed batteries in the multimeter but readings were only .01-.04 difference in the first time, i ended up just using the spare board i had here and already got it sold.

Testing some of the voltage regulators on the board, can't find exact data sheet for some so any help is great. Below is the regulators with what the reading is.
AZ7805T-E1 @ U3
1. 11.56v
2. 0v
3. 4.83v
AMC1117 @ U4

3. 4.93v

1. .81v (screen flickers for a second when i touch this pin with probe)

Well I went and pulled the other board and there are a few differences, both are the same exact model but different part numbers on board. Should I change out the psu, main board and t-con just to be on the safe side?Leave a comment:

Sharp Aquos LC-40C32U Keeps shorting T-con
My personal tv, all of a sudden just got white screen with red blue and green vertical lines everywhere. Took apart found the t-con to have a short, new board was only $30 so just bought new t-con board, came in saturday, put it in this morning, powered up and worked great for about 5 minutes then the same thing again. -

I got another one here with busted screen all the boards are good, think I should just change out the motherboard and test it? I don't have but $10 in the one with busted screen so it would be easier to do than trace down the issue.Leave a comment:

Using cable or digital antenna the picture is perfect and normal, HDMI is normal as well, when you use the AVI inputs the picture is distorted, kinda blurry, and the color is a little off, way too much white and almost looks like a little static.
I have already tried a few different cables and same result, tried it with the wii, dvd player and ps3 all the same outcome. -

I've only had to reflow the southbridge once and that was due to a wifi issue on a dv6000.
Relow will NOT always clear these problems, in most cases it can but I have seen many that needed to be completely reballed .
From my experience, the video and power issues on these boards are most of the time issues of the GPU and thus fixed by reflow or reball....Leave a comment:

If that don't do it probably def need a reflow. I have seen a number of these boards where the GPU or Southbridge needed reflowed, some issues was power, blank screen or scrambled video, boot with no fan, no wifi, not reading optical drive, and the list goes on. A quick reflow of both GPU and southbridge will most likely fix the problem but it's not a permanent fix unless you completely reball and add copper shims on the heatsink.Leave a comment:

I don't have mine anymore or would look and get it for you, sold mine as is on CL, tired of messing with it and think the panel was shot. After new main, t-con, power supply and led driver board still had no picture, got sound but just a blank backlit screen....Leave a comment:

Those are the ones I kept, still got a couple of the d600 series ones here. Most the dv series all had bad gpu's, reflowed them and got em going agian.
