Could it be the air bouncing off the grill?Do NOT touch heatsinks when testing for voltages as they may be LIVE!Comment

Re: Furmark and prime, same time, burning smell.
I am personally removing it on all my PCs. From time to time even cutting brand new holes for fans if there is not enough (e. g. older cases with single 80mm position). Quite simply:- the more fans, the lower RPM you need for the same airflow
- the bigger the fans, the lower RPM you need for the same airflow
- the lesser the air restrictioins, the lower RPM you need for the same airflow
Low RPM=low noise.Less jewellery, more gold into electrotech industry!Half of the computer problems is caused by bad contacts

Re: Furmark and prime, same time, burning smell.
My fans are not controlled, my exhaust is wired with just the + and -, and my intake (when used) is wired the same. No pwm on either, so they are full on all the time.
Think i may get ghetto and put a stupidly big fan on it taking up most of the side panel.
If i do, would it be best to blow in or suck out?Do NOT touch heatsinks when testing for voltages as they may be LIVE!Comment

Re: Furmark and prime, same time, burning smell.
I have fixed speed too. The thing is, I have chosen the speed so low I can't heard the fansActual count gives me 8 fans ATM.

Re: Furmark and prime, same time, burning smell.
my current PC (i7 PSU died) I OC'd a nforce 750i to put my 2.66 6750 to 3.2. My side of my case is off and I have two small full speed fans blowing directly on the NB HS, one set to blow right into another. that sucker stays at 43C under stress. I'm afraid to take it higher cause its an nvidia chipset ya knowCap Datasheet Depot: http://www.paullinebarger.net/DS/

by howardc64Only 3 years old. Owner said backlight went out and burning smell. Didn't bother plugging in to check if had power LED. Just opened the TV rear and found shorted bridge rectifier diode on the backlight circuit on the PSU. SF26G (400V 2A super fast recovery rectifier link ) diode replace with SF26 (what I had on hand) Google AI said G = Green Components.
Burn looked pretty bad on the board but just was blackened carbon coating material. Scraped and cleaned off quite well and clean solder pad for the new diode.

Hey....
Board as written in description was stuck at VGA LED. common Problem wit these type of bords.... tried all the "standard stuff" like resettin... reseatin.... found out the LED Controller MCU1 = IT8295FN-56A geting burning hot under the last PCI Slot.. now i desoldered it cause there were only 18 ohms at the caps arround.... another aorus x470 in working condition with similar part and nearly same layout had arround 280 ohms...
my question is: why doesnt the board start know without this chip.... worked myself through the boardview but i can“t understand... -

by lezsimplyHello Everyone and Good Day,
I've got an issue with this desktop motherboard. It does not power on, Asus Prime H310M-A R2.0. I tested 33ohms reading on 3v line on the ATX connector. It beeps on continuity mode. I tried injecting voltage from 0.9v at 1.5amps and no current being drawn. I raised the voltage to 3v @ 4amps and now I only get 22mA on current. I checked with thermal camera and there is no part heating up. I'm afraid of going further the safe voltage. What could possibly causing the line to be shorted. 5vsb has no short. I get 0.9v on positive pin of power switch. There's... - Loading...
