Re: Watch the physical size of caps!

These guys here! If the two caps between the bus slots had their pins aligned 90 degrees differently, I could just bend the leads enough to MAKE them work, but in this configuration, that's a problem. In the case of the ones by the RAM slots, their size would cause them to interfere with the operation of that clasp? clamp? random-generic-ram-slot-fastening-device? so they simply must be 8mm.

I don't remember seeing any of this stuff about money orders and what not. I messaged TC about using something other than PayPal and he never got back to me. That taffer!

1500/6.3 in 8mm dia is available in Panasonic FK, as well as NCC KZG. I'd go with NOS Panasonic FKs if they're available - my stockpile of those has dwindled down to some 20-25 pieces.

Going to rip out that too tall FM put in a tiny Oscon soon or just lay it flat something flat, something like that. I know it'll get knocked off poking out like that one day if left to it's own devices.

On reflection I think I should have stopped after the first recap. Cos it worked greater than it did new. But then I got thinking about improving upon it too much I feel.

Out there near the slots you are only regulating 12v 5v or 3.3v lines to the slots.
                  -
You know it's not on a 12v line because the original caps were 10v caps.
                  -
And 6.3v caps would be fine for either a 5v or a 3.3v line.

I know this is forum necromancy, but I just looked inside my Mami's computer to see what kind of RAM it took (I didn't remember it was this board) and noticed that those two 4700uF 6.3V Nichicon's that I didn't worry about have both vented. It's on 24/7, but just fyi.
