what temp would you recommend when attempting a reflow ?
    and for how long approx?

from what i can see there are only 3 things that can control the psu state:
    dim
    ps/on
    on/off
the remote reciever small pcb has 3.3v feed ok .
on one of the pins when remote button is pressed the voltage drops to 2.9v
this tells me that the remote reciever is ok

ive had a good close look at main board and the 2 pins for 5v are not connected to anywhere
just as the same 2 pins on the psu not connected.
ive had a word with the original owner who says nobody tried to repair tv due to its size he couldnt even get a repair man to call out to look at it .he says it worked fine then just went dead
also i entered the tv model number in google to find a psu ,
so i could look at it to compare
there is one exactly the same with picture of it i can now confirm it is the same

your suggestion to run the MB with external 3,5-5v wont work because the MB
pins are not connected to anything

is there any way to check if main board is the wrong one from the white paper label on the board?
as there are no part numbers in the service manual?
i will try to follow the cct on mainboard and get back to you thanks

EDIT: or you can feed the MB as stand alone ( no PSU ) with 3.5-5V 1A at the 5V pins on the sockets, check front STB LED come on... and put the DM on wires PS_ON ref to - external power if there 3.5V after you press power.. if this was successful mean our judgment on PSU was correct.

one things more from my side... yours Tv not Android system.. if it was Android then 12V should be active to start as hot start. also i am afraid the owner exchange PSU with wrong model. as i know Native Linux we do have eeprom which need STB. so i suggest you follow the wires of 5V on the mainboards sockets are they connected to circuit or not !!

    no.
if now just plug the PSU in wall without main board
    we get 12v ok
and no pcf boost volts just 330v.
when main board connected the boost voltage returns to 380v
i have checked the 3 opto and their components
as you can see in this jpg
there are no components fitted for 5v supply on psu so u9301 does not exist on this version of the psu

Re: philips 65PUS6162/05 dead no sby led

with regards to the legend on the psu there are no components on the board for 5v
unlike most other psu designs the 5v is not produced on the psu
the only dc supplies from the psu are: 12v
and b/l supply which i expect to be around 30v
this is why i find it tricky to force on the psu
the 12v is unswitched and is always present when mains applied ,the 3 pins that are used to control the psu state are :on-off, dim, and ps-on.
when the tv works normally the main board produces the above voltages

now the fault i have is the 12v fed to MAIN board does produce on the test points shown in manual ,5v sby ,5v, 3,3v 1.5v these are on coils: l701, l704. l702, l803

all yours messurments are at wrong pins lable.. you will never have PS-ON 3V if there are no STB V. you may have STB 3V not PS_ON but there are short / open on MB. so it didnt start.

it shouldnt be too hard to powerup the powerboard stand alone, can you get a better focused picture of the map/legend of that connector or write out the description like pin 1 +5v or whatever it says?

WOW you must be a mind reader .just tried that with s/station up to 200 deg for 5 mins then let it cool to room temp sadly no change
i know the main board is type :715g-8709-moe-b00-005n
theres a number for sale listed with correct model number but board number not exactly the same .are the philips boards identified by the white paper label or the printed numbers on the board perhaps they have to match the screen panel numberas well?

yes makes sense, if ps-on never changes and if you get nothing from on-off pin which is backlight on off, more than likely a mainboard issue, did you try heating the mainboard processor with hairdryer, or cooling the processor, then see if it works for a while.

yes i understand ,i just need help /advice how to turn on psu and check if b/l volts are working
then i can replace main board
or repair it possibly replace micro mt5802 vgej
with confidence that psu is good
when i use the 3.3v supply to force on psu theres no sby volts as that is provided by the micro hope that makes sense thanks

Ps-on has to change state from standby. Whether from high to low or low to high.

Philips 50PUS6503 - dead panel? Picture
    by Rubenlily
    Hey,

I gave up on my last TV and got a new one to try.

Only vertical lines. Sound is OK. Screen is black with a few white lines until I change channel, then these colors gradually starts filling up the screen.

Is this fixable in any way or should I just give up on this one too?...

How can I be sure that my EC chip is dead?
    by double_DD
    Hi all,

As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?

I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.

Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo
    by G33RT
Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

PHILIPS 40PFL7007 TV DEAD. D501 testing SHORT on DMM
    by vikivng
Hi guys pls can someone help with this set..
    Tv doesnt not power on.
    No standby light.
There is a burn mark by the leg of D501 diode.
The diode tests short in both directions.
I have been reading this usually means the diode is faulty? As normally would be open.
I have not yet taken voltages since this is obviously short I would like to replace it.
Can someone help me with a substitute for this diode since it seems not to be the standard type?...
