for sure, hope the file works, I can't believe its this hard to find out board compatibility in 2022 but it sure seems to be.

i contacted 2 sellers of similar boards but they cant confirm compatibility
perhaps theres some philips dealer that may know more about the board labels and weather its possible to enter s menu to change screen size to 65
im hoping lotas has a bin file i can compare ,being an optomist it could be corrupt data causing what diff calles half boot

managed to load ch341a software and removed eeprom from board ,read its contents and saved in folder
do you have to erase the contents then re write same data to chip
or do you have data i can compare?

the screen type is different and the paper label snds in PL233
    but mine ends in PL237
they scrap tvs with damaged screens and sell the boards
    there stock answer is
all the numbers must match( but they say that about all the boards they sell)

maybe ask them if it will work, they may know, they seem to have many tv parts for sale, hopefully the other methods will work for you, so you don't have to buy a board.

1v to power the processor core is normal (they have low voltage, but high current), the resistance of this bus is also very low, so 112 ohms is a normal resistance, sometimes even lower.

Re: philips 65PUS6162/05 dead no sby led

hello ,as i cant find correct main board replacement ,i decided to try again to fix
I started with simple cold resistance checks to chassis
on the supplies from the main ,
all appear normal EXCEPT o/p of U706 VCCK it measures 112ohm to chassis and when connected up only has 1volt o/p
this (,on page 49 of manual) is CORE POWER
this seems low volts to me?
if someone could take a look at post 2 or 10 manual page 47 and 48
perhaps the MT5802 scaler ic needs only 1v ,but i dont think so ?
cant find data sheet for this processor
    any ideas please ?

still trying to find a replacement main board ,before i try to follow your advice
there are so many variants of this main board ,
and of course the screen panel type must match also.
cant even find a source of the main processor ic or scaler ic MT5802-VGET
i will update as soon as i can thanks

When you plug in this device into your computer, it shows up as a new serial-port and you can then connect to the serial-port in the computer with a terminal-emulator like Tera Term or Putty.

You then hook up the headers of the serial-adapter to the correct pins on the device under test.
USB GND - to - DUT GND, obviously. (black)
USB RX - to - DUT TX, this is how you receive data from the DUT to your terminal window. (white)
USB TX - to - DUT RX, this allows you to transmit typed commands into the DUT. (green)
The red header you can ignore, it's for powering IoT devices.

This product with the blue case appears to be the real deal from Adafruit so it should have a brand controller in it which means the Windows driver will work with it.
If you find some alternative that's cheaper than this one, then it's probably built on a pirated controller chip and the Windows driver will detect that and refuse to work.
The pirated versions still work fine in Linux, though.

You will still have to mess around a bit with the speed setting in the terminal software, if you get garbage characters or just a single garbage character then you are probably set to the wrong speed and you should try some other speeds.
115200 and 57600 are a couple of likely choices, and keep the other settings at "8N1", meaning "8-bit, no parity, 1 stop bit", you will find this all under "port settings" or similar in the terminal software.

Just passively catching the boot log only requires hooking up the black and the white headers (GND and RX), but it sounds from Diah that you need to type some command, that means that you need to hook up the green header too (TX).
    great info
i will order one and give it a try

Philips 50PUS6503 - dead panel? Picture
    by Rubenlily
    Hey,

I gave up on my last TV and got a new one to try.

Only vertical lines. Sound is OK. Screen is black with a few white lines until I change channel, then these colors gradually starts filling up the screen.

Is this fixable in any way or should I just give up on this one too?...

How can I be sure that my EC chip is dead?
    by double_DD
    Hi all,

As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?

I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.

Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo
    by G33RT
Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

PHILIPS 40PFL7007 TV DEAD. D501 testing SHORT on DMM
    by vikivng
Hi guys pls can someone help with this set..
    Tv doesnt not power on.
    No standby light.
There is a burn mark by the leg of D501 diode.
The diode tests short in both directions.
I have been reading this usually means the diode is faulty? As normally would be open.
I have not yet taken voltages since this is obviously short I would like to replace it.
Can someone help me with a substitute for this diode since it seems not to be the standard type?...
