Check if the power supply has the required voltage and is steady if you haven't already.Last edited by nomoresonys; 03-15-2021, 03:09 PM.Comment

Re: SONY KDL 43w805c does not accept commands
OK guys, i have some progression. I bought another main borad from 43w809c. When i switched the set on for the first time with all connected i saw again that self diagnostic screen with colours changing. Reset the TV - was the same. Then i switched off the TV, dosconnected the LVDS cable, switched it back on and connected that cable after few seconds when i could hear the sound from welcome screen and the picture came on. Now it is working but has some strange behaviour at moments - like does not hold the settings after retsrat and others. I can see the TV in my network as 43w809c, do you think it is good idea to change the model number from the service menu?Comment

no need at all, as both are same Specifications. just check firmware if its the last one.. if need update it. if this solved the issue good if not send the boards back to seller.Comment

by crackedprintI have a strange fault on a Sony amplifier. The volume control varies the display from MIN, then 1 up to 30 and then MAX as expected. At MIN there is no sound. However, at 1 it is quite loud and increasing above 1 does not change the sound level.
I have tried a Cold Reset as per the service manual.
I have looked at the I2C clock and data to volume control chip IC501 (BD3499FV). Data is only sent to IC501 when the volume is set to MIN or 1. At any other setting no data is sent to IC501.
I have looked all the way through the service manual and tried many online...-

by karthurOn this Vizio D65x, the volume will change on its own. I don't mean like during commercials where the volume will increase. I mean its like the (+) volume button on the remote is pressed and the actual volume dialog is displayed on the screen going up. It will do this, then the volume may start going down. It might go all the way to "0"or it might stop at a different number, then start going back up. The whole time its doing this, the volume dialog is shown on the screen.
It wont do it until it has been "ON" for 20 or 30 minutes, so it does seem to be heat related.... -

by RuptorHas anybody had the problem of the digital clicking from the volume control coming through the speakers. I guess the mute should activate as everything seems to have a mute from the analogue switch LC7822 to prevent output of stuff on the speakers but the mute circuits are really complex. The pcb is very badly manufactured as if it is over etched and not cleaned properly before being screen printed because I have fixed one fault but a wide track lifted off real easy with very little heat requiring extra repair. I dread touching the board so would like to go straight to the problem if someone has...

by jason123New to Audio equipment. Received this 7.2 Surround Sound system - had a blown channel and fixed that (0.22 ohm resistor, 2 transistors, and 1 100 ohm replaced)
All channels now work. However, when I raise the volume with knob or remote, it doesn't work smoothly - you can heard distortion, and some speakers don't seem to work at max or somewhere in between..
First thought was the actual audio switch - but then Remote volume control shouldn't have this problem, but it does.
Second thought was the ribbon cable from front display to control board (V-Flex,...-
