LG 65UH5500 Flashes on then off

    Hi all,

I have an LG 65UH5500 built in 2016 that won't turn on and stay on. When you turn it on, the screen comes on like normal and shows the LG logo, but turns off in less than a second (or very quickly). I took off the back panel, read through a couple threads here, ran through Bud's TV troubleshooting PDF, and have come to a stopping point.

On the power supply board, there is a connector with 80V and 13.2V connections. With power plugged in and the TV off, these measure 63.6V and 9.7V, respectively. The TV won't stay on, so getting voltages with the TV on is a bit tricky.

I looked at all the capacitors and did not find any evidence of failure. Fuses appear to be intact as well.

Are there any troubleshooting tips I can use to help diagnose the issue with this TV?

    Thanks!

This looks like a close predecessor of the UH6100 series, IIRC, which was also built in 2016. I got it in 2017 and gave it to my sister in later-2018. Now it looks like possibly failing LEDs on it. Looks purplish and looks like possibly some dead LEDs on the bottom. We have a 49UH6100.

I had a similar problem on a LG 65" and it turned out to be one row of back lights went bad.

The connector CN2 has Fail and STB. What are the voltages on those two pins in standby and when you you switch on?
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Should search your model number to see if there are other posts.

If I have the TV unplugged then plug it in, it seems to turn itself on. Voltages measure 0V on these two pins at this time.

If I then press the power button, I believe that puts it into standby. STB measures 3.5V and Fail measures 0V.

It's a bit tough to tell if the TV is on or not since the display does not stay on.

Good find on that thread, this YouTube video seems to have solved that person's issue which is described the same as mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ir7...ature=youtu.be

I might buy one of the backlight testers to see if I have an issue with a backlight strip.

Looks likely that I have evidence of LED problems! The 49UH6100 TV that I gave to my sister, looks oddly bluish, a purplish-blue and possibly some dead LEDs!

Insignia NS-LCD019-09 issue: Power light turns blue for 3 seconds, the flashes red before going solid read again
                    by cajoeg
Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

Did some of the usual troubleshooting.
Unplug main board connector and back lights come on and stay on and PSU supplies all correct voltages on the legend.

When you just plug in the TV the PSU relay clicks on and off immediately and then continues to click on and off every 20 seconds or so. The red light on the front flashes once and then 5 to 8 seconds later flashes once again and continues the cycle with the relay.

I've disconnected each you ribbon cable one at a time and every single T-Con cable one at a time to see if there's any change. No change as long...

practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards
                    by blues_spirit
                    Hello from France,
mon2 kindly advised me to post a thread to ask the question(s) I'm concerned about. I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards especially laptops in Europe, if possible in France. I have been a computer network system administrator and a corrector of administration modules for automated programs under Unix. But I really miss the practical "ops" side of troubleshooting. So I would like to start from the beginning: 1.8V, 3.3V, 5V and 19V tests for example, etc...
Do you think this is feasible for me? I...

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...

Hp x360 15-u499nr power light flashes continuously.
                    by CraigR
I have an Hp x360 15-u499nr laptop with a continuous white blinking power light. The laptop does turn on. The light flashes with just the battery and if I disconnect the battery and just use the power cord it still flashes and with both connected it still does. I have updated the bios and tried a hard reset with battery unplugged and power cord unplugged and holding down the power button for 60 seconds. I can't think of what else to try.
