    So here's the update.

When I put the board back in after I said The TV turned on with no image on the screen. But the back light came on as if it was working. I couldn't rule out the motherboard or the TV so I waited.

I found someone with the same TV and had him bring it by and told him I would fix it potentially for free with the new reball / reflow machine. He brought it over and I tested first the board that I reflowed and thought was not right. The board worked immediately and showed a picture on his screen.

And then put his board through the machine and reflowed the same chip and put it back in and on his screen the image showed up again. I put that new board back in my old TV and only the back light showed up. So I assume the panel is dead or was broken somehow on that screen.

So both boards were reflowed and both boards worked. So that is the correct problem for this one.

Note: it's the processor on the left side near the HDMI output.

LED TV Boot loop - UE40F6500SB

      Hi,

      First post...

I have this TV, which was working, then suddenly would not turn on. It would get the clicking relay then flash up the screen for less than a second, off for a second then on again. Removing the plug the relay continues to click on and off for a few cycles, which I don't think it did before.

Left it a few months, then finally got round to taking the back off, and it worked as it should. So I tested various bits and all was well. Then turned it on again, and back to the clicking relay.

I disconnected the main board from the power...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
      by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

LG 47LB5DF blown power supply board
      by cmlewis89
      Hi folks,

I'm new to this forum. So my trusty 17-year-old LG 47" LCD recently died. As I was booting it up, I heard a hum followed by a loud bang, sounds of pieces flying around, and loss of power to the unit. Inspecting the PSU, I saw two obvious problems: a blown thermistor (bang + flung pieces) and a visibly bulging main cap. Inspecting as many components as I could with my Fluke MM, I diagnosed that the following components on the "hot side" of the board were also bad: one of the 2 main MOSFETs, main 8A fuse, small cap (25V 47uF) connected to main caps, and a blown...

Sony OLED XR-77A80J - Initially dead, now 4 Flashes
      by thstuff
      A) TV initially dead
      B) On a hunch of a locked up Google OS, plugged in a USB memory stick with latest FW and plugged it in. It booted into the update screen, completed the update and restarted to Home screen.
      C) Was able to perform a Reset from Settings menu and completed out of box configuration.
      D) Ran a 4K screen saver demo for about 6 hours, then turned it off for the day. Did not notice any stripes, dead zones or other artifacts in the image.
      E) Powered back on and it now runs for a few minutes before relay clicks, screen goes blank, Main Board Red Digital Optical...
