Hi all, so i was watching tv acreen went black and no sound. Traced problem to blown tcon fuse. Replaced and it blows replaced again samething. So my tcon fuse keeps blowing. I bought a new board havent installed yet infear its just going to keep blowing the fuse. If i only connect the right side ribbon cable the fuse doesnt blow but as soon as i connect the left cable my tcon fuse instantly blows and no picture. The right side picture works clear as day and left side picture is grey (picture attatched) im hoping its a bad tcon board itself or a cable or anything and not the panel. Thank you for all your help!!!

Re: Samsung UN65KS9800FXZA T-con fuse blowing
maybe a shorted capacitor on the pcb thats bonded on to the lcd panel
this video shows the pcb board that maybe giving you issues (from about 9 minutes in)

Re: Samsung UN65KS9800FXZA T-con fuse blowing
Not really no but i know someone that can kinda walk le through. Would that bad capacitor constantly cause the tcon board fuse to fail if i don't connect just the left side? And as for the picture on post#1 does that mean the panel could potentially be bad? Sorry im new at thisComment

Well, did you start checking the resistance of the caps on the tab bonding board as suggested? That is what you should be testing right now.Never stop learning

Just look for very low Ohms reading, <100 Ohms, that will indicate issue with either caps or IC's.Never stop learning

Re: Samsung UN65KS9800FXZA T-con fuse blowing
So im still at work soni havnt been able to check the ohms So hypothetically speaking to be armed with as much knowledge as possible lets say the panel boards are good no shorts. What would cause the tcon fuse to blow almost automatically from plugging in the left side ribbon and not the right? Or the does the problem specifically isolate to the panel boards being bad being the half screen issue? I.e leftside is white and the right side i have a clear picture*check post#1 for picture.
The panel cant be bought i spent 4k on this tv three years ago so im just arming my self with all the knowledge i can before tearing into the tv deeper. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.Comment

No, we claim from the vendor not the manufacturer. In this case I think he would win, a 4 grand TV should last longer than three years. I believe we have stronger consumer laws than the US though.Comment
