    sony 55xd9305 cycling red/green/blue

I have a 55xd9305, its cycling through the test colours

Red, Green, and Blue and then a screen with a test strip of colours.

    it was bought dead
have replaced the dps board and its working again
not sure of the history of the set.

whats causing the cycling of colours ?

Looks like you turn tv on then put stick in usb, might need to use the remote or buttons.

Yes I have fixed that issue
they are really picky about u being the original owner
              and have the receipt etc..
so bit hard for second user sets..

Ah, I see, I have to say I'm kind of impressed with sony that they are willing to fix a tv that came out circa 2016 for free, I'm actually in SHOCK lol.

Might want to hang on to the firmware, it's ridiculous how the firmware is there one minute then they take it off the site, never to be seen again.

                    update

I had another set with a broken screen lying around
so i tried that main board too..
                    same result

so i swap over the tcon and the cables going from the tcon to the dps board
and the pushfit cable going to the main board

                    now it works...
                    :-)

                            The tcon is fine too
i think its just the cabling
one of them must have been damage
the push down to release type connectors tend to mess up the cables
if they are just pulled out like that

                            going to stop now.

                                Good Day.

I just replaced tcon on my sony kdl 65xg9505 and getting green amber leds blinking. all voltages are ok according to working sequence.

i downloaded firmware from sony and there is no .pkg fike.. after extracting it gives another file which contains multiple files like inf, payload.bin and 3, 4 other files. i just did that usb but did not worked. anyone knows anything how to do it..?

green amber blinking stops after while and then starts again. tv responds to remote control on off etc. before installing new tcon backlite was coming on without backlite...

SONY KD65x750F cycles through a white-red-green-blue screen when powered on

A new main board and power supply was installed on my TV last night, purchased the parts at ShopJimmy. I had no power before installing both parts. Now the TV powers on and I hear music as it cycles through a white-red-green-blue screen. I was thinking it may be a firmware mismatch with the parts however I am skeptical as to plugging in a USB stick with the newest firmware on it since I cannot do any user interaction since all I see is colors on the screen, will the firmware start and complete on its own once the USB is inserted or does it require user input? Someone told me it is in Purity Check...

I took pictures of all the boards and the pin out of the connector on the power supply that goes to the main board... I measured all the pins in relation to chassis ground, here are the result.

I have a Dick Smith 37" LCD TV, Model GE6804. I am using it as PC extended monitor only.

Problem is while watching tv, I hear a semi loud click(like a electrical breaker tripping due to overload, just sound like it but no actual electrical overload), then screen is covered with green or pink. I can still see the original picture image but overlayed by green or pink. See attached images. Pink.jpg is what I see, and Normal.jpg is before green or pink screen, What I captured was pink screen, but about 80% of time it's green and 20% of time it's pink.

                                Then each time...
