Vizio E48-C2 - Wont turn on, light comes on and fades out when plugged in

Have a Vizio E48-C2. Was told that she heard a loud pop, then her lights went out. An electrician came and reset the breaker but her TV didn't come back on. She brought it to me and I went to look at it, to my surprise, there is only one board in this TV.

When the set is plugged in, the light comes on in the bottom corner and then fades out. I don't know where to check for voltages and can't find schematics for this. I have not broken down the set other than to pull the board out and check the diodes and caps. They all seem ok, but most of this board is microscopic. Any ideas where I should start looking on this?

How about a picture of the whole back, could try with tv unplugged from power, unplug tcon cable from main/power board, plug tv back into power and see if backlights come on.

Seems like if there was a loud pop there would be visible damage somewhere, doesn't have to be tho, take off the shield of the tcon and have a good look at it too.

no T-con board in this. I got it working. The power switch was faulty. The little disc that was taped over the contacts came lose and fell off. Put some new tape on it and got it clicking. Was able to power on.

        Thanks

Not sure if maybe the cable input is ok or not, not able to test it because my Dish doesn't have a standard coax, it uses three RCA plugs. She will pick it up in a little while.

It has integrated T-CON into the LCD panel assembly.

Right now they have those boards on ebay for 20 bucks, might be a good idea to have a spare.

Strange! Acer laptop not powering on but charging the battery (orange light on when charger and battery plugged in).

                  Hello Everyone!

I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died.

Vizio E550i-A0 no power, no standby light
                  by x_orange90_x
I have a Vizio E550i-A0 that will not power on. It also does not display the standby light in the corner. I disconnected the main board cable to see if the backlights would light but they did not (maybe this is normal for this set?). I checked the voltages on the plug and they all read in mV or 0, so there's no voltage there. The fuses are ok, and the voltages of the 450v caps read about 160v. I see no visual damage on either the power supply or main board. I have read online that the main board is usually the culprit in this model, but not getting backlights with the main disconnected makes me...

Lithonia Lighting versus Light of America Compact Fluorescent product quality
                  by sam_sam_sam
I have a Lithonia Lighting 65-Watt Gray Hardwired Compact Fluorescent

I also have back when Light of America had these light bulbs available for yard lights

The issue with Light of America was the blast boards had all most certain board failure while bulbs hardly ever fail

While the Lithonia lighting fixture has all most certain bulb failure

So I have modified the Lithonia lighting fixture to accept the Light of America light bulb and see how long this will last

I have only had this light fixture for not more than a year if it...

VIZIO M65-C1 Does Not Turn On
                  by Mulp
                  Hi All,

I am having an issue with my Vizio M65-C1 where it does not turn on. When I plug it in the stand by light on bottom left of screen turns on (white) then fades away. If I press the power button it turn back on and then fades until it is super dim.

When I remove cover, there are no illuminated leds on the main board, I've seen others with a red/blue led that turns on.

I've done some research and what is interesting is my voltages all seem slightly different from other people. For example +5/3.5v is 3.48V when on which is different from others on here....
