Re: Dead Vizio M43-C1
Finally got around to checking again. Looking at the back of the board, that standby voltage must only come from the main board because there is nothing connected to it. Very short trace that leads to no components at all. So must be either the main board or the backlights. Will pull apart the screen and check them at least to eliminate them.

Re: LG 50LB6500 No backlight, image on screen, right side bad picture
Probably just the main but I got them both for $30 out of a set with a broken screen, so I just swapped out both. Will tinker with the others when I have time.
By the way, thank you for the condolences. She is very weak and keeps ripping her IVs out.

Dead Vizio M43-C1
Have a dead 43 inch Vizio 4k TV
I measured the voltage at the connector. Getting 19 volts at the 12 pins and with the main board connected I get the standby voltage. I get the 19 volts with the other boards disconnected.
I hope there is some protection from over voltage on the main board. Don't want to do anything else till I can get the 12 volt pins reading 12 volts....

Re: LG 50LB6500 No backlight, image on screen, right side bad picture
Sorry for so late of a reply, my mother went to the hospital so a little scatterbrained atm.
Bud, I tried forcing the DRV-ON but it didn't work. I found a replacement power and main board for $30 and got them today. So I have $55 in the set now but it needs legs and a remote. Set works great though.
Other boards could have worked with the set but would miss out on the 3D and other options. Boards I got were direct replacement with matching part numbers.
I have a few...

Re: LG 50LB6500 No backlight, image on screen, right side bad picture
Yes, DRV-ON is only getting 0.076v, so the relay that it is supposed to turn it on is sounding like trying to start a car with a half dead battery.
That pin that is supposed to be no connection, is not connected, there is no solder on that pin, but the pin sticks though the board (even though it is not connected)
Wish I had a microscope. I am going to have to trace that DRV-ON back to the main board and look for a bad voltage regulator or chip? Something has to send it more voltage....

Re: LG 50LB6500 No backlight, image on screen, right side bad picture
Probes on the 33u 200v cap:
When plugged in, it jumps to about 84.8v, then drops to about 77v and settles at about 80.9v
When turned on, it jumps to about 89.9v, then drops to around 87.8
Probes on the 33u 350v cap:
When plugged in, it jumps to 85v, then drops to 81.1v
When turned on, it jumps to 90.05, then drops to 87.9v

Re: LG 50LB6500 No backlight, image on screen, right side bad picture
the buzzing noise sounds like it is coming from around C601, the rectifier, LF102, and CX102
Dont want to put by ear that close to a live hot side of the board. Cant find my stethoscope from college, that would sure help find out what that is. Seems like I need to look at the backlight circuit on the main board?

Re: LG 50LB6500 No backlight, image on screen, right side bad picture
the DRV-ON is getting .076. So that sends power to the relay to send current to the backlights? Which would make sense that the relay is not getting enough power so it just buzzes a few times.
I know the main board is bad, it sends bunch of vertical lines to the display, which I can vaguely see shining a flashlight into the front of the panel. Disconnecting the ribbon cables does not affect the power readings in anyway, so I am thinking there is not a problem in the panel.
What baffles...

the voltages from top down on that connector are:
first number is on standby, second is when set is turned on
1 - 0.000 v 0.000 v
2 - 0.001 v 12.01 v
3 - 0.001 v 12.01 v
4 - 0.000 v 0.000 v
5 - 0.000 v 24.29 v
6 - 0.000 v 0.000 v
7 - 3.595 v 3.590 v
8 - 3.595 v 3.590 v
9 - 0.000 v 3.474 v
also, the red indicator light on the front stays on till it is turned on. Then it flashes the following...Last edited by garry7263; 10-23-2019, 04:49 PM.

LG 50LB6500 No backlight, image on screen, right side bad picture
Have a 50LB6500
Backlights do not come on. I checked the backlights and they are all working. Plugged in, the light is red , when the joystick/button is pushed, the backlights do not come on. I hear something like a relay buzzing in the lower part of the board. Cant pinpoint it. The LED output reads 80 something even when not on, when turned on it seems like it jumps to 90, but goes back. Need to fix the powersupply before troubleshooting the main board....

Re: Vizio E48-C2 - Wont turn on, light comes on and fades out when plugged in
no T-con board in this. I got it working. The power switch was faulty. The little disc that was taped over the contacts came lose and fell off. Put some new tape on it and got it clicking. Was able to power on.
Thanks...

Vizio E48-C2 - Wont turn on, light comes on and fades out when plugged in
Have a Vizio E48-C2. Was told that she heard a loud pop, then her lights went out. An electrician came and reset the breaker but her TV didn't come back on. She brought it to me and I went to look at it, to my surprise, there is only one board in this TV.
When the set is plugged in, the light comes on in the bottom corner and then fades out. I don't know where to check for voltages and can't find schematics for this. I have not broken down the set other than to pull the board out and check the diodes and caps. They all seem ok, but most of this board is microscopic. Any ideas...

Re: 555 timer circuit help
I think that is all getting too involved. Here is a pic if the commercially available product. I see a timer, regulator, microcontroller, and a transistor. I dont think there is anything on the other side. I dont need the microcontroller. The the top right is the input and the left is the output. the other lead coming off that is the push button with a LED inside it. (My guess is black is ground, red is the switch, and yellow is the LED. I assume that large component is a 1.5 resistor?
I think without the microprocessor the footprint of...

Re: 555 timer circuit help
The battery I use for the flight pack is a 7.2 Li-Po battery using a switching BEC to put out 5 volts. They are 45c batteries are capable of pulling about 80 amps current and hold 2200mah. Cant drain the batteries below 3.2 volts though without damaging them. I have been flying with this set up for a long time and only have to recharge once a week. I use Li-Po battery of the same capacity in my transmitter. Saves a lot of charging time.
