OK thank you very much for your help. I've reached the end of troubleshooting now and will tell my friend that we can take a chance on a Board A with the exact same part number. There are a few on ebay which are claimed to be tested and working for around £30. Or he can buy a new TV!

      Thanks again

Wait - I have it working... kind of. I just tried the reset procedure one more time (power plug out, hold down vol-, AV and power button then plug in power again). And it works.

But now I have a screen that is a little dark on the left hand side, like the left hand strip of LEDs is not as bright. Otherwise working perfectly.

If you can, VERY CAREFULLY go into service menu and see if you have any lamp errors, be very careful what you do in service menu if you're not careful you can brick the tv.

Thanks, I can't find the relevant page in the service mode that shows if there are lamp errors.

Is it possible the LEDs are all working but I somehow mis-assembled the panel? I've had the entire TV in pieces!

              Try a factory reset.

Wondering if you have a backlight issue, some testing here, there's some simple tests that don't require stripping it down: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hQOiN4-XPk

Hi guys, the TV is now fixed. I stripped it apart again and refitted the polariser/diffuser sheets more carefully. Picture is perfect now.

I can't say 100% what the fix was. The reset procedure (vol- / AV / power button) eventually did it but that only worked after stripping the whole TV to pieces and re-assembling. Maybe there was a bad connection on the LED strips, maybe the freezing of the EEPROM was effective and just needed the reset procedure too.

When I get time later I'll post up a few lessons learned for others who have no experience of dismantling Panasonic edge lit TVs. In the meantime thanks again to all those who assisted.

More than likely loose connection in backlights, good practice is put a little tape on those difuser sheets to keep them in order.

So did you take the Voltage readings on the LED connector and other connectors for future reference?

                            With the LEDs on:
The anode (red wire) for the LEDs was at 86V with respect to chassis ground
The cathodes (blue wires) were at 10.8V with respect to chassis ground

Sorry I didn't record all of the other vbltages again.

                                Hi Badcaps,

I've had a friend discard a TH-65DX700Z Pansonic Viera Television and I've decided to have a go at repairing it. If possible could I please get some advice in terms of diagnosing the problem so I can purchase the appropriate parts for repair whether it be components, a repair kit or a replacement board. I am happy to post pictures if required.

                                TV Details:

                                Model # - TH-65DX700Z

                                Symptoms:

The television turns on and displays a picture then makes a clicking sound and turns off.

I haven't opened it up yet but...

I have a Dick Smith 37" LCD TV, Model GE6804. I am using it as PC extended monitor only.

Problem is while watching tv, I hear a semi loud click(like a electrical breaker tripping due to overload, just sound like it but no actual electrical overload), then screen is covered with green or pink. I can still see the original picture image but overlayed by green or pink. See attached images. Pink.jpg is what I see, and Normal.jpg is before green or pink screen, What I captured was pink screen, but about 80% of time it's green and 20% of time it's pink.

                                Then each time...

After watching some youtube videos and checking some forums, I'm at a loss. With both ribbon cables connected, we have no image. With the left one pulled out, the screen is black and white, split down the middle. With the right cable removed, it is all black. Backlight is working fine and we have sound and can open applications. We are strapped for money right now and are hoping to repair whatever the issue may be. I think the TV was manufactured in 2012, so I'm aware that may not be possible. Edit: Found a single vertical line of blue pixels on the left side of the screen with one of the ribbon...

Hi everyone. I've been given a dead Pana 55DX600u that I hope to save from landfill. I suspect the tcon board or UC1 on that board.

Set will flash green led and attempt to start, backlight gives a brief flash then set shuts down and red led flashes slowly. Voltages out of PSU look ok. TCon board gets 12v at fuse when attempting to start and 3.3v on L1 but main IC gets warm very quickly (heatsink/cover removed, felt with back of hand) during the second or two the 12v is applied before PSU shuts down. TVS diodes on lvds input lines are not shorted, no caps appear to be shorted. ...

Panasonic TX-P42G30E green light blinking, no video, no audio
                                by ItepK
                                Hey everyone!

I've gotten this TV for free, neither have it seen a TV repair man, neither have it been opened before.

This post describes my entire troubleshooting process of this TV.

When I turn it on using the ON/OFF switch at the side of the TV, the light rapidly flashes green, then it stays on, but it does not react to any of the remote buttons, side buttons, and doesn't play audio.

I've taken the unit apart, and I've started to check some voltages:

                                • On the P11 connector, there is 15V DC only for a brief moment, then it goes
                                ...
