i have a emerson/funai tv here that has no standby, does not make the infamous chirp sound or anything. its dead. upon removing the back panel, ive come to find out that it has no power at all on any of the output pins going to the main board. i can see power when probing around on the power supply, but no power at all on any output pins, not even standby voltages. any help sure would be appreciated

Sorry about that. The model is an emerson/funai LF461EM4. also, i did check the main fuse located near the power input. it seems to me its going to be something on the hot side if none of the output pins have any voltages. not even a standby voltage.

So the Red rectangular fuse is OK?
Do you have any DC V between the two legs of the main filter caps in the hot side?
It looks like someone worked on the board before. What is the history of the TV?

as far as i know, it was a ladys fathers television, he passed away a few years back and the tv has never worked for her, so i am assuming the tv messed up while still in her fathers possesion when he was alive and it has sat for a few years in storage. she said they had to clear the house out and they just stored it. so i am unsure if it was hit by lightning or some component failed or what. i will check those measurements asap, im slightly new to diagnosing and repairing televisions so you will have to have a little patience. let me get that measurement and get back to you. is there any specific measurement it should read?

Looking the bottom side of the board aorund the AC input I see some soldering works done on the board.
You will be making measurement in the HOT DEADLY side of the circuits so do not touch anything with your hands or body.
Since you do not have your country AC Voltage shown in your name then I cannot really tell you what Voltage should be on the caps, they can be around 160V DC if your AC is 120VAC, or around 320VDC if your AC is 230VAC.

ok i measured three capacitors (circled in red) and all were ~169.3 dcv. yes sir. i live in usa and it is 120vac.

EDIT: sorry, i guess it would work better if i also uploaded the picture as well.v also, the fuse has continuity as well.

The standby circiut is IC601 which drives Q601 fet, Check if the fet is shorted, check if R618 is open. If those parts are ok, check the voltage across C615 & C616 it should be around 15 -20 volts if the circuit is working. When checking the voltages in the primary use hot ground (marked on board as PFC_GND)

Test for shorts in ALL of the following:

1) MOSFET transistors attached to heatsinks (Q1704, Q1601, Q1602)
2) Large and small diodes,
3) fusible low-resistance resistors,
4) zener diodes located near or connected to any of the mosfet transistors in 1)

If you find short in any parts, list them specifically so we can help you troubleshoot.

As a start, check these at minimum:
Fuse F602
Transistor Q601, Q602
Diodes D601, D602, D603, D604, D613, D614, D650, D653, D655, D1603, D1605
Integrated Circuits IC601
Resistor R618

There will be many more parts to check than I listed, but use this as starting point.
