Any thoughts on this folks?? Would the IC replacement resolve the problem? Any schematic someone could share so I can figure out what the bad part is?? Thanks!

So the new fuse did blow, so you need to verify for sure that resistor RM811 is still good or not and then replace the IC.

So got the new IC today.. installed it, replaced the fuse, double checked the value of RM811.. upon applying power violent sparking took place in the hot side from component MI802S. See photos.

So you replaced SMPS IC UM801S mounted on the heatsink for the standby power supply and now you also has blown MOSFET's for the Inverter transformer driver circuit. At this point you may want to get new board.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                          Assuming...

                          Hi everyone,

I'm working on an Acer Nitro 5 unit with the following specs:
                          • Motherboard: LA-J871P Rev: 1B
                          • Model: Acer AN515-55-59MT

                          Initial Issue

The laptop initially presented graphic issues and driver failure (Code 43) for the GPU.

After preventive maintenance (cleaning, thermal paste, etc.), it powered on normally. We disassembled it again to inspect the GPU, reassembled...

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Need advice testing a samsung power supply board with scope
                          by repair-it
I am attempting to test a samsung power supply board to verify the pfc ic is working. I am powering up the board with my isolation transformer. The board turns on fine but when I attempt to connect the ground for the scope probe, it trips out the isolator. I was taught not to 'float my scope' so I am wondering if I should test without connecting the ground lead or would that be asking for trouble? Not sure how else to test, I don't have a portable scope. I could plug direct to mains power but that would bypass the safety factor.
