Sony XBR49X800D ghosting on bottom of screen

    Good afternoon!

I have a Sony XBR49X800D that is ghosting on the bottom half of the screen. The top half is perfectly fine.

I've replaced the TCON, and all three cables (one from the main board to the TCON, and both ribbon cables from the TCON to the LCD Panel), but the issue still remains.

If I remove one of the ribbon cables, half the screen (left or right) goes white, but the bottom half still has issues.

Would this be a panel or main board issue?

the horizontal line on the right is likely a "panel fault". Either the tab or connection to it is bad. Depending on the design, the tabs on the side may be removed to "save" the set and return it to "normal". Otherwise, alternatively, if there are no side tabs, then the "tape cutoff" method might be used at the tcon to panel connector to isolate the offending connection.

It would take some time, but the cut-off method using apiece of stationery tape should fix this problem. Start with a 1cm wide piece, letting it fold over on both sided of the FFC. Usually the RIGHT side looking from the back of the TV is the side that gives the problem.

however this LCD it had side band.. but the horizontal line are exact at the middle, its picture flip down, since this is Android TV the reason of Flipping Picture could be caused of many parts fault either the LCD self.
the wise way only to judge this fault you need to inter service menu... or go direct to diagnostic mode to check if any error registered.

Check the little capacitors on tcon for shorts, diode mode, tv unplugged.

The TCON was replaced, but it didn't change anything . I'm thinking it's probably the panel as suggested.

What do you mean by this? Google didn't shed any light on an "FFC". By this do you mean the cables that go from the LCD panel it's self to the buffer board?

FFC means Flat Flexible Cable. Sometimes they are called Ribbon Cables. No, the FFCs that go from the T-Con Bd to the long panel Bds. They are usually white or cream coloured.

Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
                            by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Sony XBR65X900H TV with Horizontal Lines right half of screen
                            by dvu0627
I have a Sony Smart TV XBR65X900H that started to have horizontal lines on the right side of the screen (see attached picture). When I played video on Youtube green horizontal line at regular intervals(1/4") across the screen.
I replaced the T-Con board but the lines are still there.
I believe this issue is from the Main Board. Before I replace the Main board, I wanted to seek advise if this is the problem from the Main board or something else?
                            Thank you for the help....

                            by Raulnn
good night! I have this screen that looks half black and half white. the tcon gives a low vgh value (5-6v). the rest seem fine. I first removed the flex from one half of the panel and then the other. Removing the left, vgh increases it to 25-26v. I think the problem is in that area, but there are not many elements on the integrated controller board. there are no shorted capacitors. could they be a cof? Some help?

By the way, now the entire screen is black. Maybe some flex was not connected correctly... I have exchanged the flex and there are no variations, I don't think they are the...
