Insignia - NS-42E570A11 intermittent backlight flashing

    Hello again!

I have an Insignia TV, model: NS-42E570A11, that has a great working picture and inputs on it, however, after being on and displaying a picture for a few minutes, then the backlight will intermittently start to blink on and off. There is no set rate at which it flashes on and off. The picture (LCD) display still looks great, it is just the backlight that is blinking off and on (not the picture signal going in and out).

I haven't had a chance/time to open it up and measure any voltages yet, but wanted to post what I had in case anyone already might recognize the problem. Thanks in advance!

Try turning the backlights level to as low as possible to see if the symptom will go away, it sounds like the LED backlights are going bad.

Re: Insignia - NS-42E570A11 intermittent backlight flashing

Ok, so I had some time finally to mess around with the tv. I set it up, turned it on and gave it a good input (HDMI). TV worked just fine and with a great picture. After a few minutes of warming up, it started flashing again for about a minute or two. long enough for me to play with the brightness and backlight brightmess settings. Interestingly, as I changed the backlighlight brightness all the way down, it didnt make a difference. When I turned them all the way up, it stopped the blinking.

So next day I tried it again. (And 2 more consecutive days after) I turned the tv on, good input and let it warm up some. I even let the tv sit on for many hours. This time and since I have not gotten it to duplicate the problem again. I even changed the brightness and backlight brightness settings up and down. Nothing, no blinking. Seems to be working good now. Hoping the gremlins were chased out with the bright lights. But I am expecting the problem to show back up at a random (probably most inopportune time, like watching a football game lol). I will periodically keep checking the tv and changing the brightness levels to see it I can get the problem to show up again.

Oh well, guess it is a good thing lol. Thanks for all the help!

It's a backlight problem alright. Probably adjusting the backlight level which would be altering the PWM signal did the trick. Monitor it as it may show up again and this time you know you'd have to replace the backlight LEDs. Good luck.

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
            by TR103
            Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
            - sound and backlight, but no picture
            - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
            - it keeps rebooting
            - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
            - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
            - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

            - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

Dell G3 15 3500 - Battery bug (black screen and flashing keyboard backlight)
            by HTR-Informatique
            Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
            by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and
