Re: Samsung un48js8500
For us to help we will need good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards, and the straight shot pictures of the whole top and bottom side of the power supply board so we can read the printed texts on the board.
It is hard to do long distant troubleshooting without seeing what we are dealing with.
What is the history of the TV? Any works were done to the TV before?
The more details we get the better chance of finding the cause of the problem.
What is the power supply board P/N? BN44-?????Never stop learning

Re: Samsung un48js8500
So you remove just the small cable from the T-CON to the power supply board the backlights come on and stay o, correct? That means at least the LED backlights and the LED driver and the power supply for the backlights circuits are OK, and at this point you can turn the TV on and off without problem, right?
That small cables from T-CON provide the backlights dimming control so it sounds like those control signals from T-CON are stuck low ( you can verify by checking those PWM pins DC Voltages on the power supply board with and without the connector CN9003 in place.
Did you also try replacing just the T-CON board only without replacing the Main board?Never stop learning

http://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-bn4...wer-supply.htm If your board matches, test all pins on CNM803, theres a legend/map located just below the big number 48 on the board, tells you what the pins are, test in standby and when you hit the power button, report both conditions, example pin 13-A13v, 0 v standby, 13 v tv on, something resembling that, meter set at 20 vdc, black probe to ground, chassis of tv is ok, red probe to pin.Last edited by nomoresonys; 05-20-2018, 08:59 AM.
