Re: Insignia NS-55E480A13A. Backlogs flicker, then black screen.

        LED Board
        1. 2.1
        2. 0
        3. 2.8
        4. 0
        10. 23.9
        11. 23.9
        12. 23.9
        13. 23.9
        14. 23.9

So there is voltage in 14 on LED but not on power board
on 1. power board is 2.8 but 2.1 on Led board
on 2. DIM is 2.1 on power board but 0 on Led Board
on 3. DET is 0 on power board but 2.8 on Led board
on 10-14 all are 23.6 on led board but number 14 on the power board is 0

I unplugged the led board wires and tested them with power on and all were 0

nomoresonys, you are correct I had them reversed. There is audio but the flashlight test...I didn't seem to see anything, even hitting menu. There is nothing plugged into tv though(cable)

          Also:
On top of the led board there are wires that go into the back of the tv and disappear. I read them,
          1. red wire 23.4
          2. NO wire 23.4 ?
          3-10 0 could be grounds
          11. 23.4
          12. 23.4

OK, just redid the flashlight test....YES it does show 'no signal' on the screen when the flashlight is on it.

So according to this video, it is usually the led driver, which I did switch out and it still didn't work. I've looked around for a power board to buy, but no luck yet. I still have the tcon board...thinking I'm just going to try it out just in case. Otherwise, I guess I'm going to have to learn how to test and replace components on the power board itself. I don't wanna give up!

I inserted carefully with plastic gloves as instructed with video. No luck with the t-con board.

Could try a firmware update/reapply, had a quick look at insignia site but didn't see an update for this model or I missed it?

If you could see the menu with a flashlight well enough and the menu responded to remote, you could try a factory reset, not sure if there's an alternative way to factory reset.

BUT those things won't work if it's a led backlight problem, if one of the led backlights burn or shorts out, all the backlights shut down, kind of like the old Christmas lights, remember the "fun" of trying to find the one burnt bulb?

Your powersupply board looks to be ok to me.

You have audio and display, that usually means the tcon and mainboard are ok, powersupply looks ok, if you got a good driver board, the only thing I can think of is a burnt or shorted out led or backlight circuit, one of the supertechs could probably figure this out right away.

I think the key would be to know EXACTLY how to and what voltages to expect during the LED driverboard and backlight tests.

So at this moment, do the backlights still come on for seconds then go black?

yes, it was one of the first things I downloaded. It was foreign to me, although when I just looked at it again, at least I can identify the different boards.

                                            Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

                                            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                                            Hello everyone !

My name is Chris, I am a 30 years old embedded software developer working in the automotive industry. I am really passionate about learning new skills and repairing/crafting stuff. I came around this forum last week with the goal of repairing my faulty gaming laptop, indeed, I was video editing on it when suddenly a black screen popped and never disappeared I bought some stuff to try to repair it and learn as many things as possible about computer repairs but nothing worked so far. When the black screen appeared, my legion 5 pro was connected to my external monitor...

                                            Hi everyone,
I have this strange behaviour with Acer Aspire E5-574-52RH, i5 6200U, intel graphics, DA0ZRWMB6G0 Rev G, model ZRW.
Laptop came in for a SSD upgrade, took everything apart to install the SSD.
Everything started after modifying BIOS settings to boot UEFI instead of Legacy.
Laptop works fine, i installed windows 10 and drivers/updates, everything works ok(when it works)
The black screen problem is random, maybe 5 out 10 times, laptop remains with the black screen, no image

                                            Symptoms are:
                                            - random black screen after displaying Acer logo...

Hello, I'm working on a new deskmod pc project and have a problem with my monitor, an AOC U34G3XM, well, I may have bricked it.

The monitor was dismanteled and the separate parts parts integrated in the desk. the screen panel alone is on the upper part, and main board/video board + power board on the back of the desk (not enough place on the cover to fit it)
At first everything was working smoothly, then I decided to change the connexion between the video board and the screen for a longer one. Still working fine

During another reassembly, I made a mistake, and...
