never had logo at start up,
audio is there

LG logo at the boot up Is it correct? The audio of channels is present? How do you found the pins 5,6?

still no remote functions apart from on/off, volume up/down, and channel change, no source or settings

just tried resetting IC101 again pins 5 and 6, now got a screen like this ????

If you want you can buy another eeprom, equal or not equal, is enough it is a 256kbit.. and change it so the tv will reset itself.. LG also often suffer from bad cpu or bad cpu soldering, so you can try reflow it even if probably it will work for too few hours...

eeprom chip are always the same, 5,6 pins (sda,scl)

"2EC" is 256kbits so it's surely IC101..

If there aren't 8 pin IC's on the bottom side i ask you tell me the marking of IC6000 and IC101 (as far as i can see from a not well illuminated area)..

No Diif, that is not to touch, is the Flash eeprom for the standby software..

doesn't look good. Have you verified all of the incoming pins to the main board in terms of powering / grounds to ensure that the "printed voltages" and such are there and correct... just in case you are missing some "stimuli" that is stopping the board from normal operation. What is still "funny" is that you indicated that a different tcon board allowed the picture to work "perfectly" for a little while and then you were back again to your present mode. That seems rather strange. Having said that, in my recent travels in "sharp land", a few of the subtending processing chips (signal and otherwise) get their "personality" from the eprom so if there is an issue there, then their function is totally compromised even though the set may almost work perfectly with some inputs / aspects. I suspect a 4k is even more so.

At the top edge, near where the model number is written, has a white dot of paint on usually.
