LG 32LB5600 Won't turn on and no standby light

I need help with fixing my 32 LG LED TV. Model 32LB5600 It wont power on at all. No standby light on bottom front also.

I checked the voltage on the pin on power board output. I get 3.5v at the 2nd , 3r pins from the bottom up. I do not get any other voltage reading.

The BGA chip on the main control board gets very hot.

Can someone tell me if my power board is defective or my main control board shot?

OK, you do have 3.5 Standby Voltage to run the main board and when you turn on the TV with remote or with the power switch on the TV, then main board should hen send out the commands signals to turn on the rest of the power supply and circuits.
    <1VDC = OFF, >2.5V or so = ON
PWR-ON = PS-ON to turn on the rest of the power supply
P-DIM = PWM Dimming control of the backlights
DRV-ON = BL-ON to turn on the backlights

If you do not have those command signals then you have problem with the main board.

Disconnect the power supply from the mainboard. Power up and see if the backlights come on.
If they do not then connect a 1K resistor from 3.5V to PWR_ON and a second 1K resistor from 3.5V to DRV_ON. Check that the backlights come on that you also have 12V & 24V supply.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Thanks for your quick reply and suggestion. I shorted drv-on and pwn-on with 3.3v. Back light came on.

All the voltages were present also. 12v and 24v.

So seems like power board is ok.

Is there any way I can repair the mainboard? any suggestion?

So the power supply has been proved to be OK and you said that the BGA chip on the mainboard gets really hot although they do normally run hot. The mainboard is not sending out the control signals to power on and bring on the backlight on so it does look as though you have a dead mainboard.

Sounds like the LGE2121 chip has shorted. I managed to use a Hot Air Station to replace one a few weeks ago. Same size but 2132 chip. really small pitch but I got lucky. About $16 USD I got the chip for mine.

Also found that a 42, 50 " board would also run a 55 no worries over here in fact I tried to get a brand new board. told no longer available, given a substitute board number also NLA and that was a 47" model,

so may mean the same for your region maybe also for a 32 but can't be sure but it makes sense as the TCon drives the panel.

Great panels, poor backlights, burn out or lenses fall off.

You can use an eeprom read/writer to transfer the old data across like run hours, serials, model number etc.

Doubt it but all I can report is chip off, chip on, board fixed. Running daily in the bedroom.

Where have you been hiding?. I'm stuck on a LG Plasma PSU failure you didhat video on,

Oh, something I thought of too, you can disable the standby LED in the menu. May have been why you have no light. Gave myself a scare when I was playing with the eeproms, lost the light thought it was broken until I hit the button. Obviously I'd carried across the setting with the flash.

Yes , I think Iwill. there's plenty on that particular model but nothing but dead ends.

Installed main board that I bought, the tv came alive. I think this is very common problem for this model.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

My Oled Tv is 55inch tv, 3 days ago I notice that middle of the screen is getting warmer and on picture I have ghosting, missing red color. Color red was still displaying, but it was not so strong as corners of the screen and watching some movies makes me angry.
Then I get an idea to take it apart and clean boards from dust.
In side of Tv was not so bad, I take compressed air in can, and gently blow up.

Also I was thinking to styrofoam sponge to isolate power board from screen that the middle of the screen will not worm so much. Because Led on screen when gets higher...

I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

                              Hi everyone,
I'm trying to troubleshoot and repair this old LG OLED curved TV, model 55EG910V.
I did some basic troubleshooting and reviewed most related posts here, but I wasn't able to isolate the issue.

The TV shut itself off during playback and never came back to life - the standby light remains off. My dad claims that it has happened a few times in the past but the issue resolved itself after some time. Not this one.

After checking the basics I did the following:
                              • I measured all voltages and as expected the only active supply is the 3.5V standby. It

                              Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
