    Panasonic TX-42A400B

    Hi All
I have this Panasonic in with no picture but has sound and backlights are on ?
I have took some pictures of the panels but I have not removed any as yet all caps look ok on all panels.
I am thinking the fault will most likely be with the T-Con board?
Unless someone has had this fault and knows different!!
    Any help much appreciated.

I have checked the fuse F1 on the T-Con board and that seems ok.

as the panel pcb is on the bottom of the tv is it possible someone has cleaned the screen with fluid and damaged the tab bonds? im not sure if this would give you a whole no image situation though do you get voltage too both sides of the tcon fuse

Here are some pictures with the ribbons disconnected .
The half white and half black with lines in it is with the right hand ribbon disconnected and the two blank screen pictures are one with the left hand ribbon disconnected and with both ribbons connected.

Going by the results of removing the ribbons it seems that the T-con board is certainly faulty ?

i think that you have a panel fault with the alternating picture status that you have shown.

                    Hi All
Was wondering if anyone has a service manual for this set?
I have now tried replacing T-Con board and the main AV board but still have no picture !!
I have back lights and sound but no video any help would be much appreciated.
Or has anyone had one of these sets with this issue ?

                      Hi Ron,
                      Available to download from

                      https://www.electronica-pt.com/esque...s-km25e-32819/

I would strip it down and have a good look at the circuit board which the tcon connects to. This runs along the bottom of the set and also connects to the panel via the tabs. Check that water has not caused any damage.

I have had a good look at the boards connected to the screen and have even eased one of them out without causing any damage to connectors and can not see any water stains at all.
I have asked son for the remote so I can carry out some tests but I am thinking that the display is the fault.

I have just been looking at those lcd testers they look like a good item to have.
Has anyone used these testers ? If they have what do they think of them ?
Are they user friendly to use and what sort of problems can they diagnose ?
Any info would be much appreciated before I go ahead and purchase one.

If I remember when reading the spec on it some time ago it still has to be connected to the Tcon so it would not eliminate a tcon fault or a coff chip fault. Therefore I think it has very limited use.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Yes I agree it is limited! When watching the video you have to connect it to the T-con board and what he is saying is if you still do not get a display then it is the T-con board.
I have changed the T-con board but still no display.
You would need to be able to connect this tester after the T-con board but they do not show if this is possible , They do show it being connected directly to a laptop screen so maybe you could connect directly to a TV lcd screen but you would probably need a different connector but that could be costly for all different models

I will ask the question to one of the suppliers to see if it is possible to connect the tester directly to a TV lcd to test the screen rather than through the T-con board and see what they say ?

I think I read some ware in the past that some screens could only display for so many hours ? mainly LCD's

                                          Hello everyone. 😀

As per thread title, this unit has a serious SMPSU fault. It blows F1001, which is a 10A M205 in the phase from the mains input.
Very first thing I tried, was simply replacing the fuse, but the replacement ceramic fuse blew immediately.

Looking at the schematic for this PSU, I then removed what I thought was the next likely candidate: D1001 - the HV main bridge rectifier.
This isolated the fault(no longer blows the main fuse), but does not point me to the actual fault.
There are no devices that have exploded or otherwise show signs...

The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Well, due to my grid tie inverter not accepting high voltages, and the fact that the lions in my solar panels are 36V (72-cell) I think I need to stick with 72-cell.

However I have a few smaller panels that are 36, 32, and two 30-cell. The 36 and 32 together run at 75% efficiency (and subtract more with additional inefficiencies) when running in parallel with the 72-cell panels. The kicker is that the two 30s... generate 0% power when connected in parallel(!)

So now what to do with these small panels?

                                          I could sell them...

                                          Or I could shim them....

                                          Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                                          More Details
