Samsung UE50H6400AK Panel or T-Con? Has Backlights And Audio

Hi Guys! Had to join this forum as the advice is top quality and right now I'm in desperate need of some help.

The other day I purchased this model for £120 thinking I'd be able to replace the T-Con and be up and running. I'm now having doubts to say the least lol.

Basically the TV has backlights and sound. But after reading some posts I thought I'd try the 1 ribbon to the T-Con and here's my results...

Right T-con plugged in half screen goes white for a second then goes black again with backlights and audio.

Left strip plugged in I get half a screen with working picture and audio and the left side of the screen goes white with a line down it.

I've read similar posts where Budm has mentioned this being down to a bad panel but they were relatively old posts and I don't know if fixes and methods have come up since then.

I currently have a T-Con on order from eBay ATM but beginning to have lost faith before it even arrives. Is the panel bad or could it actually be the T-Con? I have not used a multimeter to test any readings yet as I don't actually have a clue what I'd be looking for.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I will post pics asap if required.

One side would seem to have problem. If it were me I would be looking for shorts on the panel pcb

Hi bud.

Just had a look over the panel and ribbons and they look immaculate all the way down the strips. No damage/burns at all! Tried jiggleing and tapping them and nothing on the screen was affected it just stayed the exact same. Left me completely lost with it all lol.

Did the same thing with 1 ribbon taken out the T-Con and when the LCD was half displaying there was 3 blue lights illuminated on the T-Con. When I put the other side in where all I can see is backlights only 2 lights were illuminated on the T-Con. Exact same 2 blue lights illuminated when both ribbons are inserted. Don't understand why and where the issue lies. Will upload pics in a minute

I would check voltages on t-con with each ribbon removed one at a time to see if any voltages getting dragged down on one side of panel.

I would check voltages on t-con with each ribbon removed one at a time to see if any voltages getting dragged down on one side of panel.

Any idea which parts I should check bud? Also you think it could be a bad panel or T-Con?

I would check for shorted caps on the lcd board.

Are these caps easy to check and replace?

you will have to remove the bezel to see them. they are surface mount. we can guide through the testing of them.

They are at other end of the two ribbon cables on t-con

Ok guys received the replacement T-Con today. Sadly exact same issue as before which definitely means it's the board the panel connects to. I'll strip it down later on and post some pics and wait for advice with my multimeter at the ready haha.

Ok guys pulled the bottom down of the panel. Is there anyway to test this board with the multimeter? If so what should I put it on and how shall I test it? Many thanks for any info.

now you need to check the resistance on all of the ceramic caps.
i have highlighted some so you know which to check.
